HEVI-Shot Duck Load Shotshells
Nothing brings out the performance of firearms like HEVI-Shot® pellets and now the makers of the revolutionary pellet, ENVIRON-Metal, Inc., are making their own shells that include great features such as weather-resistant crimps! The Duck Load shells allow for 50% more lethal pellets on targets over 40 yards. They have a 15-percent pattern improvement over high-speed steel. If you're shooting to kill, you should shoot the best!

Good for upland and waterfowlIf you have an older shotgun with fixed chokes.
This ammo is well worth the price.
It flat out rocks geese-pheasants.
I have used the 16 gauge in #4 shot in my older Browning citori with amazing results.

Can't Justify cost.I can't justify the extreme cost for these shells based on shooting high velocity steel loads. I and my hunting buddies shot HV steel loads with the same kill rate as the Hevi-shot on sea ducks.

Works Like LeadNot happy with my results with Steel Shot, Hevi Shot works like what I used to use in lead. Cost prohibitive in volume for me, but knocks ducks down better then steel.

Killer ShotshellsThe B shot size is very effective on snows and whitefronts in 'white-spread' rice field hunts. Only reason they didn't rate five stars is because of the price - but these HeviShot loads bring them down at 40 to 50 yd ranges.

Great shellsBeen going to Iowa pheasant hunting for 25 years and these rounds are expensive but I don't drive 10 hrs to be cheap and miss! Use an extended choke tube and I have made over 40 yd shots easily

The BEST subguage load periodIf you have an older shotgun that you like to take out in the field and want a shell that will flat wreck upland game and waterfowl alike then look no further. The hevi shot pellets in these shells are simply amazing.
Instead of Dram, why don't y'all give the amount of shot in each load? IE 1-1/4oz or 1-3/8 oz? I can not tell from the descriptions, thanks.

The 2 3/4 shells work great, I've let my wife shoot my SBE2 with the 2 3/4 and she loves them. They'll kill ducks just as far as the 3 in.

Is the density of HEVI-Shot duck loads less than Remington's Wingmaster shells?
Just bought a case of Hevi-Shot only to read a review stating that it is less dense than lead (9.7) while Remington's Wingmaster loads are heavier than lead (12.0). Should have bought the Wingmaster loads if that's the case.

From the late 1990s through today, loads are faster than ever. The problem inherent with steelshot loads is that the density of steel is less than the density of lead, meaning that a BB-size pellet of lead will weigh more than the same size pellet made from steel. With this decrease in density, the steel load loses velocity much quicker, reducing range and lethality.
There has also been a push to combine steel shot and the alternative loads in one shell. These shells give hunters the best of both worlds at a lower cost. Hevi-Steel loads form HeviShot are a very popular example.
