Great beginner hunting bow, low quality stringBeen shooting this bow since the November 2nd and the string is already starting to fray through at the top loop. I've kept her unstrung between shoots (3-5 a week) at my local club and waxed appropriately. Ridiculously poor quality string to come with a new bow. Other than that this was a perfect starter. If you buy a Bear, order/buy a second string NOT from Bear when you do or you will be disappointed. Also, doesn't seem to have reinforced tips so you're string choices are limited to non fast flight. For a legendary company the lack of quality in something as essential as a string is sad.

Fun, beautiful, and durableGreat bow for instinct shooting. Everything feels natural from draw to release. Most bows I've shot feels like I'm operating a piece of equipment, but this bow feels like a part of me.
Very durable, has stood up well to heat (110degF+) and rain. On cold mornings I rub it down though before shooting to warm it up.
I've heard some complain about the string it came with (Flemish twist), but mine has lasted two years so far with no fraying or broken strands. I wax it regularly.
Only accessory I use are beaver balls. The bow did seem to have a lasting reverb out of the box, but it has quieted down nicely after adding beaver balls.
The bow also looks very nice.
Only "disadvantage" I can think of is the fact that it's a single-piece bow. Take-downs are nice for transportation; this bow can be a bit awkward to transport especially if you have a two-seat standard cab pickup like me (I roll the bow in a big blanket and put it in my toolbox). I personally love the fact that my bow is single-piece.
I store the bow reverse-strung.

Slick purchaseThis is my first recurve purchased. I've hunted with my compound for 6 years now and wanted to try something more natural. Upon opening the box, the bow was smooth and slick looking. Not blocky at the riser like some I've seen and felt. The wood grain stands out which gives this an even more elegant look.
This is bow is nice!

Great customer serviceI love my new bow, a gift that gifted myself for Christmas. When I opened the gift for Christmas I noticed it was warmed on the top riser, and I returned to cabelas and they replaced it in a timely manner. I have been shooting it only a few days and love it. Look forward to deer and elk season this year. I know others will love it to.

Satisfied CustomerI have shot the Grizzly for 21/2 years and still very happy with the way it shoots. Recently, I bought a Bear Cheyenne. Now that I am shooting the Cheyenne and the Grizzly I find that I can shoot the Grizzly with more accuracy. I Think the reason for this is because the Grizzly is like a cross between a long bow and a recurve bow and is more forgiving. Its not as fast as the Cheyenne which makes it comfortable to shoot.

Awesome first recurveFirst recurve I've ever bought....took some advise from experts for this to be a great starting point. After some string silencers and limbsavers this is a great shooting bow...especially for the price.

Bear Grizzly Recurve BowI started out in bowhunting with a used recurve, now after 35 yrs of useing a compound I wanted to try tradional archery.I got the Bear grizzly and I must say this is one sweet bow,at 50 lb draw this is a smooth, quiet, and just a pleasure to shoot.I may try hunting this fall with this bow, getting a deer with traditional archery gear would be very rewarding. You cant go wrong with the Bear grizzly, thank's Fred Bear.
