Q&A
The Franchi® Instinct® L Over/Under shotgun functions via a sturdy steel color case receiver with a tang operated safety and barrel selector button atop the grip. It features a gold plated single trigger, along with a Prince of Wales style A-grade walnut stock and forend with a traditional satin oil finish. This Franchi shotgun has checkering on the grip and forend plus vented ribs between the pair of barrels and along the full length on the top barrel that is finished with a fiber optic front sight. Standard choke tubes: IC, M, F and wrench.

Trigger setup is junk after 5k roundsWe bought this Franchi hopping to have a good gun like my berettas. We decided to get it because it takes the same chokes as a beretta. It was a smooth shooting gun great for ducks and geese. My son used it in his shooting sports completions as well it was fun for him until the trigger setup wore out. We kept this gun clean every 50 rounds it was cleaned. For the money we payed we were hopping to get a good gun not a piece of junk. I would not recommend this gun or any franchi shotgun to anyone. If you want a good over and under go buy a browning or a beratta.

Great gun for priceTook duck hunting very well balanced and not to bad of a kick. Gun in very accurate and smooth trigger pull. Would recommend it to anyone. I have browning gold, and versa max which I love hunting with, but this us new favorite for ducks and upland birds.

Delighted with the Franchi Instinct L, 20 gaugeAfter reading the reviews and blogs about this gun, I had some concerns. But when I inspected the gun and felt how nicely it shouldered, I made the purchase. I've now shot it for three months and I am really delighted with it.
The dark chocolate finish on the wood goes well with the color case finish on the receiver. It doesn't have the fancy scrollwork that comes with more expensive guns, but the overall effect is both distinctive and quite handsome. Although the stock is listed as "A grade" quality in the advertising, mine has all the elements of AA-ghrade.
The specs say that the gun weighs 6.1 pounds, but mine actually weighs 6.35. I don't know why there is a discrepancy. Mine is a good weight for a 20 gauge field gun. It kicks harder than my 6.8 pound Ithaca 20 bore, but I solved that issue by wearing a good quality shooting vest with a gel pad to absorb the kick.
The Beretta Mobil extended choke system fits this gun so I purchased a set and patterned the gun. Both barrels were accurate and provided a consistent distribution of shot.
Initially I had a problem with the safety switch, so I sent the gun back for warranty service to Benelli USA (the importer of Franchi guns). Benelli treated me really well and sent my gun back within a week - no charge. Seems like warranty service is excellent on this gun, and its a seven-year warranty!

Seems Good to MeI bought the Instinct L 20 guage back in June 2017. My wife and I share it for casual sporting clays and I use it for upland hunting. We have fired around 800 shells and its still going great. The recoil pad absorbs most recoil making shooting comfortable even with just a t-shirt on. The weight of the gun makes for quick pointing and an easy carry for upland hunting. It's practically a B gun being a subdivision of Benelli and actually uses the Benelli mobile choke system. I also love the classic look of the case hardened receiver. We're very happy with our purchase.

Would Not RecommendWe bought the gun for our son to use for competitive clay target shooting. The gun forearm broke after the second time he used the gun.

Very PleasedI had made up my mind that I was coming home with a rather pricey 20ga Citori, but then I picked up the Instinct L and shouldered it a few times…done. The softer style recoil pad makes for very pleasant shooting. The gun swings and points well and hits where you’re looking. It’s a nice-looking gun, but not so nice that I’m afraid to really use it. If I decide I need a 12ga O/U, I would buy another Instinct.

Nice GunI have had this gun for 2 months and have shot a couple boxes of ammo a week thru it at the range. It swings nice, recoil is minimal for a lighter gun and has given me the confidence to want to shoot more.
Is the Franchi intstinct O/U able to use sheep shot or non-lead shot. For CA requirements? Des it come with choke tubes for steel or non-lead shot?

Some are steel proofed, check the stamps on the barrel to confirm.
