Rated 5 out of 5 by gac1 from THIS STUFF WORKS If you can't follow instructions, leave it on the shelf for those of us who can. I have one site which has been untreated for 3 years and the deer still come to it and tear up the soil. For the rest who say it only works for a few months out of the year, do some whitetail research. Deer mainly crave minerals for a particular time period of the year. It happens to be during antler growth for bucks which also happens to be the time of year when all deer are eating a lot of green leafy vegetation which is high in moisture content. My father had a mineral block in the same spot since the early 70's and I am continuing the tradition with the pictures to prove the timing and results. Wish he was still here to see my trail camera pic's from this summer so far.

Does hit this all year round but especially in summer months and the bucks hit it as well. If its just one thing I have on my property that others dont then it is worth every penny. The area on the surface looks like a roto tiller has been at it they paw at the ground so much to get at it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Outdoorsfinaddict from Consistently good I have been using this product for years, as well as trying multiple other commercial attractants and after at least 10 consecutive years of using mineral attractants I can easily say that the Deer Cain concentrate and block give the best results both immediately and over the long term. After putting it in a month later you can expect a noticeable hole in the ground. I only put this in on an annual basis, so when I return the following year at the same time (around thanksgiving every year) the hole is large, deep and always has fresh tracks at it and beds around it. All other mineral supplements I've used work ok to start, but by next season the site I put it in is always overgrown and clearly not visited by deer, in contrast to the "Deer Cain" which is always trampled and heavily visited. Over the years the deer in my area have created new trails from multiple directions to my "Deer Cain" sites. I would highly recommend this product to anyone interested in establishing a consistent mineral supplement site

I sprinkled the entire bag on some brush right before a thunderstorm. A few days later the brush was all torn up and deer signs were everywhere. I had almost 200 trail cam pictures in 3 days. This stuff works great!

I found it was best to just pour the mix on the ground and leave it. Don't mix with water. Just let the rain take care of it for you. I use a whole bag on each site. I have never witnessed so much deer activity on my property since using this stuff. We see deer almost on a daily basis now (and its mostly wooded terrain). They are everywhere! My neighbor saw 10 bucks together just a few days ago just a couple hundred yards from my house. Just started using this stuff 6 months ago. So dont hesitate if drawing and retaining deer in your area is what you are after. Get it now! Just practice patients and make sure you select a secluded site where the deer will feel more comfortable using it.

I tried it both ways and found I had much more success by just pouring the entire bag of powder over the site. Cant explain why but it just had the deer more active as well as it seems to last longer between reapplications.
