Great reel out of the boxMy daughter brought combo with this reel and bass pro rod. Easy and long cast with a square bill or a spinner. Caught 4 bass and the drag didn't let me down. Felt great

TatulasBest line of reels on the market. You can give this to a 8 year old their first time to ever use a bait caster and have no worries about back lash.

Great reelI own both Tatula CT and SV models and this new model fits just right in between them on price. It feels a bit more refined than the CT while not quite up with SV. The size is more compact than CT models but honestly it is not a "wow, this is smaller" feel. Performance wise it casts very well, great distance and near good as SV. The brake dial is bit tighter too, so it does not move if bumped which is nice. Over all another great reel from Daiwa!
How does this reel compare to the Shimano Curado K or the Shimano SLX?

Thanks for your question. The Daiwa Tatula 100 is intended as a freshwater reel. If exposed to salt water, you will want to give it a thorough freshwater rinse immediately after fishing.
