Description

The Colt® Competition Government Model 1911 Semi-Auto Pistol is a direct takeoff of the standard-issue 45 caliber M1911 sidearm originally manufactured by Colt, and used by the United States Armed Forces from 1911 to 1985. The Competition Model has features for enhanced accuracy and shooting control. A National Match® barrel and a 3-hole aluminum trigger aid in reaching the pistol's full accuracy potential. An upswept beavertail grip safety with a raised memory bump and an undercut trigger guard keep the bore axis low in the shooter's hand for increased fire control. A dual recoil spring assembly reduces felt recoil, muzzle flip, and wear on the pistol. A low-profile, Novak adjustable rear sight and a Novak blue fiber optic front sight get on target quickly to deliver pin-point shot placement. The slide and frame have low-luster blued finishes; and the custom G10 stocks are textured and have a scallop to reach the mag release cleanly. The Colt 1911 pistol has proven itself in battle to be accurate and reliable, and the Colt Competition Government Model 1911 Semi-Auto Pistol is its direct descendant.
