Works well
I had a bunch of old wheel weights. I was concerned about the sharp edges cutting the bag but I was in a hurry. I filled the bag and threw it into the truck.
The bag worked well. No cuts or anything. I will remove the metal clips from the lead and cut the lead into smaller pieces to add more weight. Although the extra weight isn't really needed the cut up lead will allow better positioning on the sled.
Worth the buy.

This lead-shot carrier bag is just what I needed to keep my Caldwell Sled from sliding and shifting all over the place. I did take the advice of another reviewer and filled the bag with pennies. However, I did place all the pennies in a ziplock plastic bag for easy removal. Works great and I didn't have any problems with the material or the zipper as reported by others. Great product.

Bag Is Too Small For DFT Sled
A lead shot bag fits so snugly into the Caldwell bag, that it makes the Caldwell bag too short & squat. It won't fit on the front part of my Lead Sled DFT tray. You can't mash it flat enough to fit under the front cradle if the Sled is set for a longer firearm. It will just barely fit on the back part of the tray by pounding it down until it finally slides under the tubing just above it. I had my wife sew a larger bag that allows a second bag of shot to lie flatter & fit under the front cradle at the front part of the tray.

Very Handy
I purchased 4 of these from Cabelas to use with my Caldwell Lead Sled. They really made a big difference in the ease of transporting 100 pounds of lead shot from the parking lot to the rifle range. Fabric is tough and the stitching on the carrying straps appears to be strong. They have held up well the few times I have used them. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Zippers Seal Tight
I bought two bags and was concerned about how well the zippers would seal. I planned to use sand for weight along with several lead ingots as lead shot was quite expensive. I was glad to see the bags did seal as I had hoped...reducing the overall cost of the weights/bags. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

a good investment
this is a good product for zeroing in your larger rifles shotguns muzzleloaders or even small calibers.It holds your firearm secure and with up and down and side to side adjustments ,you will find it a breeze to get them shooting right on!

Works good
Overall the bag works good. Not really necessary, but it makes toting the lead shot easier. Was a little hard to get the shot to stuff into the bag. A little unsure about the durability since its such a tight fit and a lot of stress on the handle with 25lb of weight.

Caldwell® Lead-Shot Carrier Bag
if you are going to use lead shot to weight down a rifle shooting rest this is a great way to do it! makes it a lot easier to carry your shot around and you don't have to worry about the bag splitting and the shot spilling all over the place.

Not worth it
Says it will hold 25 lbs of sand. Well filled 2 bags up and still had 1/2 of a 50 lb bag of sand. Zippers aren't worth a darn.Sand leaks out of the zipper area.Leaves a mess at shooting range from sand leaking out. Would be better with bar bell weights. Also when you fill the bags up then you can't get them in tray where they belong.

Works ok, nothing special.
I bought this along with a lead sled. It does what it says it will do, but it's really not necessary if you have other weights to use. It seems a little pricey for what you get, but not exhorbitantly so.

Defective product
Three of four of these bags came apart at the side seam because it was improperly sewn. Cabela's has been good about replacing them at no cost but the problem continues. I need two bags to use on my Lead Sled but cannot seem to get them. One more replacement and the whole lot of them get returned.

Do not buy if you want to use with Lead Sled DFT
These lead bags do not work with Caldwells new Lead Sled DFT. They sit way too tall when filled with lead. I would definitely not recommend!
Kind of funny that Caldwell shows a picture of their DFT Lead Sled with a green shot bag on the sled in their advertisement for it, yet they don't sell a lead bag that actually fits.

Wasted money
Filled 4 bags, each with 18 lbs. of lead shot. The seam on one bag shreaded when it was lifred dumping lead shot everywhere. Now each bag is wraped in duct tape. Hope it holds until i can locate quality bags.

not so good
Bought two bags to use with caldwell's latest lead sled DFT. Tried to put in 25lbs. of #8 shot into 1 bag and it barley fit. When I tried to put it on the tray of the sled-no way would it fit between the tray and the dual frame. The bag was much to fat. Note, I did leave the shot in the original bag when I packed it into the Caldwell bag. I like the bags but I don't see how they could work on the DFT. There 10" long but really need to be about 12" to lay flat enough for clearance. I need the weight for 375's, 458's, 416's. Any ideas? PS. The new DFT is great !

I know it is probably my own stupidity but I was expecting the bag to be filled. I had to spend another a sum of $ to fill the bag with lead. They are convenient for carrying but read the description good.

Carrier Bag
I just bought two of these bags a friends Christmas present. Both of the bags zippers seem to be pretty low quality. It seems like the zipper will not zip correctly every time you close it. One bag closed fine with a few pulls back in forth. On the other bag the zipper was completely sewn in wrong. I tried to zip it up and didn't realize it until the zipper came completely off one side. I looked at it closer and the stitching on the zipper was not stitched right. The bag itself seems ok but the zipper just seems to be junk as far a quality goes. I think for a zipper that is going to hold in 25 lbs. of lead it should be a little higher quality.

Very handy and functional
I purchased 2 Caldwell bags for my two 25 lb. bags of lead. Before, I was always afraid the bags of lead would tear during transport to the gun range. With these Caldwell bags, I no longer worry about that. Its a fantastic idea but I do feel they are a tad bit overpriced.

A Lead Sled Must Have
I have two 25 lb. bags of #4 lead shot that I used on the Lead Sled that were starting to come open; losing shot all over the place. Not to mention very difficult to carry. The Weight Bags keep all the shot in place, and the carring handles on the bag make it much easier to carry.

Helpful, but...
These bags are well constructed, but pricey for what you get.
Would be helpful if they had a heavy duty zip-lock bag liner. Then you could use inexpensive sand rather than expensive lead shot and have no hassle with sand leakage.

Perfect!
These bags work great for putting a 25lb bag of lead shot in, not to worry about spilling them all over and it makes them very easy to carry with the handles on top. They fit perfect into the sled as well. I would recommend.

Very Handy
I used this product with the Lead Sled. It was easy to use because it had a handle which really helped me out with my dominate arm in a sling from surgery. I thought the bag was priced a little high considering the thickness of the bag itself. Time will tell if it is made durable enough to last considering it was made to carry "weight."

Easy to handle
Well built product that allows you to easily carry your bags of lead shot. No longer have to worry about the lead shot bag ripping. Lead shot bag fits easily into this carrying bag.
