Good rod just don't be rough on itGot 2 of these at Christmas last year. They've worked really well and the reel isn't terrible either like lots of reels seem to be on lots of cheaper end combos. Just a few days ago I was dragging these rods through thick bush to get to a lake that can only be accessed by 20 minute hike. When the hike was done one of the rod tips had snapped. I assume it is because it probably would've hit a tree and some stuff while bushwhacking, but it would still be nice if they were more durable and held up to some rough handing.

Greatly Starter RodBrought four of these rods for the family to start ice fishing. Worked great...even handled the 27" walley I pulled out of Lake Winnipeg. Good value for the mo ey. Could use a longer handle on the butt end, a bit hard to hang on to with mitts/gloves.

Broke first time it bentI bought this rod a month ago. I used it for the first time this weekend. I set the hook into a 14 inch lake trout and the rod splintered mid way up the spine. This was a Medium/Light rod, the weather was 1° C.
Disappointed to say the least.
Can't recommend this item. Forget about costing you a fish of a lifetime. This rod couldn't handle a tiny laker.

Great starter setup!Great setup for a person who is looking to get into ice fishing. I find it is better quality than a lot of the other setups in its price class.
