DisappointedI’m a big fan of the octane patterns so I picked up
This jacket last season. I’m super disappointed with it! It says it’s gortex but I find that after out in even light rain Im getting wet. At this price point I would definitely not recommend this product!

Expensive but good.So I’ve read a few comments regarding this gear and heard different opinions. Some of mine hunting gear is already waterproof but some not and wearing not water proof gear during last spring turkey hunt had thought me a lesson- you need rain gear. So trying to save some money I purchased Cabela’s space rain gear and took shower in it. The hood started soaking water while the rest of the set was fine, however a set of space rain gear costed 179$, it’s super thin and light but you have to treat it as a fragile material and wear it only while up in tree stand. If you go through thick woods you will definitely ruin it and here it goes 179$, so I decided to return space rain and purchase mt050 quite pack, it worth much more but the material is good, 90% quite, not as packable as space but will definitely fit into your backpack. Reading negative comments I put on some clothes and mt050 on and took shower for 15-20 minutes, no leaks so far, my underneath clothes remained dry. The final testing will be in the field but I think I can trust this set. My only wish was that pants had some waist strings instead of belt loops.

Why am I still getting wet????I purchased the jacket and pants. I honestly was impressed with how quiet they. Most Gore Tex isn’t that quiet. The jacket and pants are also comfortable. Actually more so than some Gore Tex Sitka products I’ve tried on. It would be nice if there were either cargo pockets or zippers with flaps to allow access to pants underneath. The pockets on the jacket are adequate and there’s also a nice pocket on the chest for your cell phone with a storm shield. The problem is that once the outer layer stops repelling water it goes through. This is really Gore Tex right??? It does a nice job at blocking the wind, but not rain. I hunted in some mild rain and I wasn’t any better off than other guys wearing fleece. After a couple hours (2-3) of sporadic mild to moderate rain, I was wet. Shoulders, arms, legs, chest. Basically any part of my body that took direct hits from rain drops got wet. I’m very disappointed in them in this aspect. If you got stuck in a downpour, they’d be even more worthless. I spent $379 for the jacket & pants so I could stay dry, but that didn’t happen. I sat in my stand and still got wet. The zippers on the pants should have a storm shield, but I actually didn’t notice water coming in at the zippers. My knees and thighs got soaked probably because I was sitting. This was after the first hunt with this jacket and matching pants.
I then line dried them and tumble dried them in the dryer per the tag to reactivate the water repellant outer surface. I had the same problem the second time I wore them. Once the water repellant layer stops repelling water, the Gore Tex doesn’t stop all of the water from coming in. I thought Gore Tex was Gore Tex. Are there different levels of quality they have????
I’m disappointed I spent a lot of money to help me tough out hunts in poor weather only for that money to be wasted. It’s a shame because I do think the jacket and pants are comfortable and quiet. I’m not sure what to do now. There’s nothing comfortable at my local sporting goods stores and I’m concerned with ordering more products online at these prices without having a better understanding on how they’d fit, feel, and perform.
I'd rate them higher, but they are listed as 100% waterproof. I'd call them water resistant. If I only had problems with the pants or jacket, I'd say I just got a defective product. However, I had issues with both the jacket and pants.
Im wondering if it has a "Gore-Tex" stamp or logo on product and it is garrenteed rain proof?

Cabela's MTO50 Quiet Pack Rain Jacket for Men is with a Gore-Tex embroidery on right lower sleeve (photo attached). Also, a Gore care label can be found on inside of right side seam (photo attached). These are the proof that the said parka is a Gore-Tex product. Yes, it is 100% waterproof and breathable.
