Not what I expectedIf you like thicker jerky, this will work fine. I wanted 1/8" thick slices, and that is impossible to get with this slicer. The insert is thin unsupported plastic, so it deflects easily, causing you to slice roughly 5/16" thick slices at the thinnest. That is too thick for me. The knife was fairly dull as well, but it was easily sharpened with a ceramic sharpener. I wish I'd have kept my money.

Easy SliceGlad I made this purchase. First timer making jerky and this slicing board made uniform slices of meat. Gives you the choice between 1/8", 1/4" and 3/8" slices. The knife that came with it works well too. I was able to quickly get through 10 lbs of meat and the edge held up. I used partially frozen venison too.
The plastic meat holder also works well except for the last slices of meat where the holder teeth went through the meat and I was cutting into them. The stainless steel and plastic make clean up super easy. Overall made the finishing part of home processing easy! Now we'll see how the jerky comes out!

Works WellBought this a week ago to make some more jerky. I like the fact that it is made out of steel and plastic and is easy to clean and store. Cutting the meat was a breeze. I did it when it was still partly frozen and cut some pretty nice 1/4" pieces. This was only my second time making whole muscle jerky. Friends and family that tried it said that it looked and tasted like it was professionally done! Very satisfied and can't wait to make some more and try some different flavors.

AwesomeBought this a week ago. I love being able to have a consistent thickness. It's the perfect size for an entire 7lbs eye of round. The knife is surprisingly sharp. I love that this is heavy gauge metal with a poly cutting board and not wood like the competition board. I cut my roast at 1/4" thick, marinated and cured with the Cabelas jerky mix and smoked on my Camp Chef Smoke Pro for 5 hours. FANTASTIC!
