Questions & Answers
The description says "Retrieve: Left". Does this mean that the handle knobs are on the left side? Or does this mean this is a left handed reel (which, to old fashioned fisherman, could mean that the handle knobs are on the right side)?
Asked by: Cornelius Cobs
"Retrieve: Left" means the handle will be on the left side of the reel. (Note that the photo actually shows a right-hand retrieve model.) Thanks for asking!

How do you get the spool off this reel? Surely you don't have to take it a part to do it? The reels I have dealt with you could take it lose on the opposite side of the real handle and remove the side piece and take the spool off! Don't have a manual !

Thank you for choosing Bass Pro Shops. To remove the spool, you need to remove the right side plate. The side plate is removed by pulling the pin located at the top, front of the handle side of the reel (see arrow below). This allows the side plate to be rotated up and then out.

Would this reel be considered a "BFS" type reel. I would like to use it for trout fishing.

Thank you for choosing Bass Pro Shops. The Fish Eagle reel is a magnetic brake only for the cast control. The Pro Qualifier and Carbonlite are both a Dual Braking system reel with both centrifugal brakes and magnetic which will give the options to fine tune the reel for light applications.
