6 Stars! Met ALL expectations!I know the rating scale only goes to 5 stars, but I would still rate this at 6! They are everything I was hoping for. I expected to have some disappointments with my high expectations, but have had none.
I was looking for an insulated (light-mid) waterproof boot that was not leather. This narrowed the field pretty far. I also was somewhat budget conscious. Did not want "cheap" but also didn't want to spend a bunch. These boots looked to address all I was looking for.
I ordered these about a week before shotgun deer season in Iowa. We had a few inches of snow before the season. The day of, the snow thawed and it rained. All this on frozen ground made for lakes of water everywhere. These boots kept my feet incredibly dry and warm. I was walking in water to my ankles. Not a drop of water inside. The next day we received several inches of snow. Feet still remained dry.
Having received them immediately before the season, I was concerned I might not have time to break them in, and would be jumping right into walking many miles in them. I wore them for around 15 minutes in my house just to make sure they fit as expected. I wear a size 10.5 shoe. I ordered size 11. Fit is exactly as expected. They wear like a comfortable tennis shoe. No need to break in, these are comfortable out of the box. No sore feet after walking many miles for 2 days straight. They were comfortable in 40 degree weather and rain down to 20 degrees and snow, both on stand and pushing deer.
I paid $90 for these boots on sale. They were worth every penny, and more. I see these are now $140. Knowing what I know now, I would say these are still worth that price. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to meet the criteria I was after. The only thing I found weird is that these are Cabela's brand, but were not available on the Cabela's site at the time of my purchase. Oh well, buy them wherever you can get them.
