The mag loader is simple to use, just fill the hopper with loose rounds, select the desired round count (1–40) and press a button. The loader automatically orientates the loose rounds and loads the magazine. Magazine loading can't get any easier. Works GreatTested it with a team of 20 coworkers, many of whom were highly skeptical since gizmos and gadgets are pretty common in the outdoor/tactical equipment market. The range didn't have power but that was no problem for the loader is it came equipped with a full compliment of lithium AA batteries pre-installed. It powered through probably forty 30-round mags before the end of training. It would have done more but we initially didn't realize it ran on batteries so we didn't bring it downrange with us. When it gets the rounds moving through it just right, it loads about 2-3 times as fast as loading by hand. On average, it loads just a little faster than you could do by hand if you were really trying. Even the most skeptical range master was impressed. This will definitely save some blistered thumbs in the future.

Easy to use with improved reliabilityMy initial experience with this loader was less than positive. However, knowing that Vista Outdoor is big on product quality and improvement as well as customer satisfaction, I decided to give the loader another try. My replacement loader now performed as expected. It loaded the magazines easily with minimal effort, exactly why one would buy the device in the first place. It appears the bugs have been worked out and the machine when it did experience a minor hiccup cleared itself. I can now recommend this loader to anyone who wants minimal effort AR Mag loading. My only suggestions would be a bigger hopper capacity and higher speed. However, better to sacrifice speed for loading reliability and fewer jams which is why I suspect it operates at the speed it does.

Still better than loading by handI had been following the release of this item for some time prior to its launch and was excited to see it finally on sale. I have run about 30 magazines through it thus far and have had jambs on about 8 of them - which required me to unplug the device, remove the panel and clear the ammunition from the hopper. It has had several other jambs but they cleared on their own. While not overly dependable, it is still better than loading by hand. I am hopeful that the next version will be better but am happy to have this product. Recommended but with the caveat that it does jamb.

It works!This is a rare occasion that something works as advertised. Its truly amazing, pour 3 boxes of shells, set the amount to load per mag and go. Perfect every time. I recommend that you spray a tiny bit of synthetic oil on the inside of the plate the can be removed above the mag port. just keep it clean with a very tiny bit of oil and it works!!!
Now make one for 9mm
