excellent purchase Blackout Duravanes 4"I love these vanes. I've been using them several years now. I fletch with a hard helical to control fixed broad head flight. Be sure to clean the shafts with an appropriate cleaner. I use denatured alcohol. I've never had a problem with any of the fletching glues. My preference is Gorilla Glue impact resistant. Either the gel or liquid works fine. I leave the vane in the jig clamp attached to the arrow about 10 minutes before removing the clamp and going to the next vane. I have fletched well over 70 arrows. I like these vanes better than Flex Fletch and AAE vanes. They work for me

Poor PerformerI'm fairly new to arrow building so at first I thought the problems I was having was strictly related to my inexperience versus poor performance of the product. I purchased the 4" Duravanes and attempted to fletch aluminum arrows with a Bitzenburger Dial O Fletch. The problem I experienced was the edge of the vane (where it contacts the arrow) curling up after being glued. It didn't do this all of the time but probably 70% of the time. After purchasing another brand of vane (and after 10 -20 failed arrows with the Duravanes) I realized it wasn't me after all but an inferior product. Do not waste your money and time on these "deals".

marginal vanesThese vanes will not stay on for more than half a dozen shots. This is the process I have tried, I clean off the old vane and glue , sand with 220 grit sandpaper, wipe clean with acetone and then wipe clean with dry napkin. I also put a dab of glue on the front and back of the vane, after gluing down the vane. They seem to be attached well but the next thing I know the vane is starting to lift off.

great productI have been using these for several years just bought this bunch to fletch my new easton aluminum shafts using Bohning fletch tite to attach them just be sure to put a drop of glue on the front and rear of the vane after fletching helps keep them on for those pass thruogh shots

you get what you pay for...Purchased because I thought they would be a cheap alternative to the blazers I usually shoot, boy was I wrong! I re fetched & re fetched until finally giving up. I was losing vanes every time I shot. Thought it was the glue at first, then my arrow prep, but it was neither, it was the vanes. Ultimately I bought some more blazers & re fletched all my arrows, have yet to lose one since. The duravanes are stiffer than the blazers & are tough, but the don't adhere worth a darn.

They work GreatThese things stand up to my wisker biscut. I have more problems with glue than I do the vanes. The Red Head supreme lite arrow are great but I am having a hard time finding a glue that works well on them

4" Redhead duravanesThese things are awesome! I fletched some right helical and shoot them through my wisker biscuit. They don't wrinkle! Use them, you won't be disabpointed.

How tall are the 4" and 5" Blackout DuraVanes II

With DuraVane 3" or longer, is a helical required or, can a slight offset also be used successfully?

It can be slightly off set. I use the straight fletch.
