Q&A
The Bett's® Trim™ Gim Popper's long slender bullet shaped cork body and high-action rubber legs generate more wiggle than a honey bee giving directions. Outstanding for bass and bream, the Trim Gim Popper's hackle fibers give this big-time wiggler a larger profile along with more seductive movements. The cork body with contrasting black dots and bright colors is cemented onto a Mustadreg; hook. Size 8.

best store bought bream flyThis is the fly my Dad taught me to fish. I have caught more fish: bluegill, and bass on this fly than any other I have used. Around Central Florida, it works like a charm. The problem is finding them. This is the first time I've seen them in years. Thanks BPS

best commercial bluegill popperhave used this popper design since the late 1980's
truly the best commercial for bluegill..even early spring or late fall; and you will catch a few bass as a bonus; they are too expensive, but they have caught hundreds of 7 to 9+ inch bluegill over the years...highly recommend a 3 wt rod fly rod...7 ft floating 7 ft 3x leader works quite well...even on a windy day...let the popper rest, sometimes it takes 30 seconds or so for the larger bluegill to bit...most exciting at night when you have to listen for the bit

Bett's Trim Gim poppersI've been using these popper for bluegill for a couple of decades. I prefer the yellow and chartreuse colors, but these little guys definitely work wonders on bluegills in shallow water or wherever they are holding shallow. Great for spawning bluegills. Good quality construction and proven designs. As someone else mentioned these will fit into the smaller mouths of panfish for better and more reliable hookups.
A weight forward line is recommended because the rubber legs add air resistance to these lightweight poppers.

Bass love it!Within minutes of tying this popper on I had a bass! Unfortunately, my line broke and the bass got away with my popper. I headed back to basspro to pick up another and while using, that same bass examined the popper, with the old one stuck in his mouth!! I didn't catch him, YET, but got another bass. I've tried many flies but these poppers have produced the most results. They aren't the cheapest, but well worth the money.

A real panfish popperI think this is a better popper for panfish than regular poppers because sense the head is thinner it fits in their small mouth's better. Which means better hook ups. The package says to use a 7-8 weight rod but thats over kill, i use a 5 weight rod. Although a good panfish popper i also catch bass on it to but i would not reccomend this for bass.
can i throw this with just a regular fishing pole? or should i buy an ultra light ?

This is a FLY! It won't cast, even with ultralight equipment. Get a 10 or 12 ft cane pole and 8 or 12 lb mono and wade around a pond or lake. Throw it up against weeds and let it sit, probably as long as a deep breath, then twitch it just a tiny bit. If no hits within a minute or so, pick it up and move a couple of feet further on. This fly caught me several bluegill in Ft. Pierce that went over a pound each.
