Q&A
Built to deliver the super strength and durability needed when fishing around rocky ledges, heavy weeds, docks and rough brush piles, this abrasion resistant Berkley® Trilene XT® monofilament line excels in heavy cover. An excellent high-performing, low-memory line that casts very well and won't put a large dent in your wallet, this mono line is designed to allow you to get away with some incredibly dicey casts.

Best All Around LineI've used most of the popular brands of mono ever since there was mono. XT is the only mono that I have
Continuously used since its introduction. XT is the toughest most abrasion resistant mono I've ever used. It's never let me down. Stiff? Yes, memory? Yes but XT 10lbs test will out perform any other brands 20lbs test. Heavy spinner bait, Texas rigged worm, compare with any mono and one will see the difference in toughness. You won't have to retie because if line abrasion hardly ever. Ive had a 3000 yd spool of 25 lbs test for twenty years and still use it ( mostly to tow vehicles) for extra heavy lures. All around and for the buck can't be beat.

1000 yd XTI have tried many fishing lines in my 75 years of fishing experience and there is n doubt in my mind that Berkeley XT can't be beat for casting or spinning. buying in 1000 yd spools allow me to top fill as many reels as necessary. This year almost all my reels are ready to go with XT green.

Great LineI have always used XT line for my fishing, but now with eyesight failing, I need to purchase something other than this color. I need to be able to see the line as I fish in rivers for large fish to know when to set the hook. It will be an easy transition because this line is offered in a very visible color. I have used this line for years and it is superior to anything I have found to date. It is easy on the pole guides and casts a long way. 10 pound test works good when fishing from a boat for steelhead fish up to 20 pounds when the river water is not running high. 17 pound test works well when the river is running fast while fishing from the bank or boat catching salmon up to 30 pounds.

Great LineI have used Trilene XT for about 5 years and so far its been great. I would have to say thats its very similar to the big game series of line. It has great abrasion resistance and will pull a tree out of the water before breaking. It does have quite a bit of memory. I wouldn't recommend this line on spinning reels

Very good lineI use this line for pan, bass and walleye. Great line. Very strong. Use in lakes and rivers. Save a little money with the 1000 yard spool. Use on all my spinning reels.

A+Hands down best line for the money.
All our rods are spooled with this stuff every year.
Never lets us down.
Just want to get a knew line. Berkley makes great stuff. I tried Stren, but not the same. Thanks!

Depends on level of experance. I have no problem with either but I do use a smaller test XT than I would use in XL for the same fishing method. XT is unforgiving for the novice.

Is the Red line low-vis or only good for certain conditions?
Asked by: BigQ
its good for any conditions because the red color refracts faster and the fish cant see it. you can but they cant
