Fish hit it hard, yet the bait holds up for multiple catches. Because of it's durability and effectiveness, I feel it is the best value for your money. Secretly, I hope very few people read this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by webFishrz from Great Product! The Berkley PowerBait Saltwater Jerk Shad is my favorite soft plastic bait by far. It is great for sight fishing the flats, skipping under docks or mangroves, or blind casting to search for fish. It has been effective on trout, snook, redfish, ladyfish, jacks and even flounder. It is easily rigged with a regular twistlock hook or belly-weighted twistlock hook, depending on depth you are fishing. They are very durable and can be used over and over again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fish1 from Ling cod killer Bought the 5" anchovy for a rock fish trip out of Berkley, CA. Since we had to fish in strong winds and current, it makes fishing hard. I rigged it up on a live bait rig and caught 8 shaker ling cods and 1 keeper ling cod. I even tipped on shrimp flies and worked good for rock cod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by seaspider from Nightfishing port Canaveral I fished the jerk shad at Port Canaveral on 10/18/13 from 2pm - 7am alone from a small craft in varying locations within the port. When thrown under dock lights it produced three undersized Snook. When worked in the open targeting school action it produced 6 Crevalle Jack, the largest measuring 20". When worked on the bottom it produced one 15" Flounder. These lures are especially effective when used in conjuncture with a weighted twist -lock. They mimic finger Mullet and work well during a Mullet run. After about 5 fish, or 2 Jacks an eye or two will fall of the lure, but the fish don't seem to mind. Very pleased

Caught a bunch of halibut on it and even caught a 40# Black sea Bass from the harbor! Other soft bait I used are bass trix flash trix and zoom fluke but I get more bite on Berkley® PowerBait® Saltwater Jerk Shad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chockpish1 from Great on stripers! I have been using the Arkansas shiner power jerk shad for striped bass. And let me tell you that these work extremely well. I have caught at least six to seven stripers on one shad. Rigged on a 3/8 jig head and twitched and paused, the stripers can't seem to say no! I have also used the watermelon pearl color, and that one works better in the fall. I think it resembles the rainbow smelt that start to run about that time of year. Either way, they work very well! Tight lines, and be safe!

what color is best for stripers?

Everyone has their own preferences but the important thing is that your lure "stand out" so that it will attract the attention of a bass. Yellows, neon green, parrot, pearl white and gold's are the best overall colors for all hours except in the dead of night. During hours of full dark, black, purple or dark blue are better simply because they can be seen easier.

What is the best way to fish this bait?

Put it on a jig head that is heavy enough to get it to the bottom and bounce it along bottom. Experiment until you see what speed the fish like best.

what size and pattern hook would you use with these and also what jigheads would you use?

I use regular jig heads and just enough weight to get me to the bottom. It depends on the depth of the water and current. I use anywhere from 1/8 ounce to 1 ounce
