Q&A
Looks ALIVE, tastes ALIVE, feels ALIVE -- because your bait actually "lives" in a natural, super-charged GULP solution! It's softbait in a bait bucket! Because these super-realistic biodegradable Berkley® Gulp! Alive®! Shrimp actually "live" in a high-octane Gulp! solution, they absorb up to 20% more attractant. That's 20% more scent, more taste, more action and more reason for fish to snap them up! Each super-charged Gulp! Alive! Shrimp bait disperses its potent essence like a blood trail in the water, and when you're done catching, you can simply put your Gulp! Alive! Shrimp back in the bucket to recharge for another day!

Gulp QualityI've used Gulps for many years fishing for Speckled Trout in the Gulf of Mexico. It has always been a great bait, especially for Trout. This Spring I bought about a dozen six packs. Many of them were bloated and very soft. Whenever a fish hit them they would tear and come off the hook. I don't know what the problem is but hope it's just a bad batch. I purchased mine in Acworth but I have a friend who purchased some in Myrtle Beach with the same issue. I suggest inspecting them carefully before purchase. If they look fat or mushy leave them on the shelf or identify the problem to the sales associate.

go to bait for redsThe 3" white or glow Gulp Shrimp is one of my favorite baits for reds in the back marshes. Rigged on a 3-0 or 4-0 flutter hook it is deadly on red fish when you have shallow grass and pot holes.

good from greatGulp is a good bait for my saltwater fishing ,but they keep making it softer so it does not hold up to even small fish. I am sure the softness could help a bass hold the bait longer but how about making a saltwater version for our toothy fish.

Gulp baits workGood success with gulp shrimp and ghost shrimp. First time to buy a small bucket. Unhappy with container leaking out the lid. Recharge liquid messy and fishy smell not pleasant. Had to change to a spill proof container.

It Just WorksHands down the only soft plastic I've ever seen work when nothing else does. This shrimp catches fish on the flats, in the deep holes, and any place there may be a fish. I use the 3 inch so the hook gets a little farther back to insure that I get the fish. I have found that I get a lot of strikes with the 4 inch but they tend to just hit the tail. The best way to rig it for me is with a weighted hook weedless. The juice will leave a horrible smell on your hands for hours, but thats the price you pay for greatness.
Why don’t you make it obvious how many gulp shrimp a buyer gets for $19.99, talking the 3”.
Asked by: Petog
Thank you for choosing Bass Pro Shops. The manufacturer does not list these by quantity of shrimp. They only list them by the size of the container. The 3” is an 11 ounce container.

How long do these last once opened
Asked by: VirginiaAngler
As long as the package is resealed properly and kept out of extreme temperatures, they should last a very long time, approximately 12-18 months. Thank you for your question.

Rigging Backwards?
I've heard that cutting the tail off and texas rigging these backwards is more effective. Also is it possible to keep tail on, or does that mess up the action? Comments?
Asked by: redzone
I use the shrimp hook in head first if the tail gets bit off then turn it around, it depends on the fish if they want it from the front or back. When a shrimp swims it uses its legs and swims forward, it uses its tail to get out of dodge when theres trouble for him. Either way is good like anything it depends on what the fish wants that day.

What is best type hook and size hook for Trout/Redfish?
Asked by: PastorMatt
Depends on the size of the fish. I use a 4/O wide gap Trokar hooked Texposed style. Theres a lot of weeds and logs where i fish. and this makes it weedless. if you dont have to worry about hang ups use a 1/4 or 3/8 oz. lead head with a 2/O or 3/O hook.

What is a good color for surf fishing?
I am a beginer surf fisherman and I am wondering what color would be the best. I own Gulp! shrimp in the 13 color/ yellow and red. Would that be a good color and how should I rig it. Please help me!

I have great success with the pearl while 3 inch shrimp. Put them on a 1/8 or 1/4 once red rig head. Just cast out and let it settle to whatever level you want. Goes down at about a foot a second if you know the depth your fishing. On sand I let it settle to the bottom but if grass flat I try and keep it off the grass [ dah]. Just lift your rod tip fairly slowly and let it settle. Retrieve at a fairly slow pace. Good luck.
