Berkley Fusion19 Slow-Turn Hook
The Berkley® Fusion19™ Slow-Turn Hook is a slender, fine wire hook with an exaggerated bend, designed to produce a rhythmic spinning action on a slow troll. Usually coupled with a live or artificial crawler or leech, the Slow-Turn corkscrews the bait through the water, triggering more strikes than a straight retrieve. Unlike other designs, this Fusion19 hook offers an innovative bait keeper that effectively holds your bait in position, leading to more strikes. Precision forged for maximum strength.

Super sharp, durable, & they work great w/ GulpPurchased these about a month an a half ago while loading up on some Gulp products. I use the #1 and 1/0 rigging slow death for walleye and saugeye. Where I fish there are large catfish and hybrid striped bass that can tear up a rigging hook. These work great because they are durable and very sharp and can stand up to non target species.
I've had issues with getting Gulp minnows to spin with Mustad hooks. These have a more exaggerated bend allowing them to spin wider soft baits with ease. A plus is the bait keeper barb. I don't use it as a bait keeper, but as a bait stopper. Most fish cause the bait to slide up the hook and over the eye. This helps stop the bait from doing that.

Bait keeper is keyAs far as improvements to the "slow death" crawler spinning hook design the baitkeeper on this hook is simple and innovative. I recently bought hooks from another brand that incorporated a swivel and other "features" but while the swivel can be moved the baitkeeper can not be imitated. In a system where the bait need to stay in place to keep spinning this feature is a big improvement on a simple hook design.
