sadI would not recommend this lure. It is EXTREMELY HARD to get it to walk the dog at all, let alone having it walk consistently is IMPOSSIBLE. I have yet to catch a bass on it ,probably because I have not used it in months.Good looks, cheap, horrible bait. I like every inexpensive xts/xps hard bait except for this piece of junk.

Peacock Bass!I got this lure from my Secret Santa at work, I probably would have been too skeptical to buy on my own due to the great price. I went out after a December cold front just to practice, and landed a nice Peacock Bass in 5 minutes! I can’t wait to try this again in more ideal conditions!

Drove Stripers crazy todayPurchased 2 of these lures yesterday, went Striper fishing today. Stripers went crazy today over this lure. Changed split ring and hooks to Gamakatsu hooks. Llst one larve Striper due to it pulling back hook out. I own several Lucky Sammy lure, this lure moves almost the same as the more expensive LC Sammy. This lure is the Bass Pro version of a Sammy.
As for it sitting head up at rest well thats what
its supposs to due. If you read the product on the Lucky Craft website you will see Bass Pro description is similiar.
These lure work, I got 36 Stripers today, 24 while using this lure. Get a few, don't over work the lure during your retrieve and you will be fine.
I am gonna get a few more of these lures. Thanks BPS for anither good lure.

hmm...picked one of these up in the clear finish, just to see how it stacked up against other topwaters (and i throw tops 99% of the time!). for $3.19 i figured, what the heck, lol...no, really. i was in a BPS and was just looking! anyway, went to the local lake to throw from the bank cuz it was danged chilly and i wasn't gonna put the boat in cuz i just wanted to see how a coupla lures worked...wow! this thing casts as far as the yo zuri, and walks just as well! now, the fish were down due to the weather, and i didn't catch anything on any lures (threw 6 or 7...love just walkin' the dog) but when the weather heats up and it's time to throw tops, this'll be on one of my rods for sure! plus, at that price, i won't mind throwing it in somewhat dangerous spots, getting it hung up, can't get to it, etc... see, that's the thing...an inexpensive lure gets tossed in spots my expensive ones don't cuz i'm afraid of losing the expensive ones, lol...my biggest bass was on a cheap crankbait at falcon cuz i threw it where i could possibly lose it, and that's where the fish are... anyway, get one, try it, and get some more to hand out to buddies...and try the clear. that finish has always been my top producer (yo zuri, heddon, etc)

Not Impressed with itI purchased several of these when they went on sale. I was totally disappointed with the way it sits in the water. I tried to use several techniques and the Pencil Plug did not entice one strike. Lousy action.

Very good for the priceI love this lure as it is the closest to a Zara spook with out the cost. I also think it is easy to use and when the top water bite is on this works well. The color is similar to bait we have here and is a plus. The hooks are sharp and the bait holds up with many fish even Northern Pikes and the teeth. Would recommend to others.

XTS Pencil P lugLove top water and for $2.99 how can you go wrong. Haven't used them yet but bet they work .
cast it out....let the ripples die...slowly reel it in, gently popping the rod so the lure walks back and forth...maybe stop it once in awhile....you gotta find out what tempo the fish like....thenn hang on!

How long is this lure
The description says 4" but down below it says 3 1/2".
