Nothing else like it!I’ve been using and abusing these traps for well over 5 years and there’s nothing else on the market quite like them. The blunt nose and larger profile body are unlike the traditional traps you see from most name brands. The blunt nose deflects the lure off of almost any structure. The larger profile body mimics bait fish in pre spawn ( where it’s most deadly) and gives the fish a larger target to hone in on. These traps have a tight wobble and good vibration. If you pause your retrieve and jerk the rod, the lure will turn on its side, flashing colors like chrome and silver very well.
I gave it 4 stars because in my opinion the hooks that come factory stocked are to big for these lures, and start to rust and corrode after 6-10 times using them ( in fresh water). I swap these hooks out with VMC round bend (9650), size 3 treble hooks. These hooks come 8 to a pack for $3.99 which brings the total cost of each lure to $3.35 (off sale) and $2.83 (on sale). You won’t find a better rattle trap for that price! These hooks are also saltwater friendly ( with a rinse of fresh water after your done) and going one size down will not hinder the action or the casting distance of these lures.
I also find that the finish on these lures will come off after hitting a lot of structure or catch several fish. I repaint them with left over spray paint that I have laying around. Typically all black or black back/ silver body. Good way to give the fish something different as well.
Tennessee Shad and Black Back/Chrome Belly work best on bass in stained water. Blue back/ chrome belly, ghost spook and golden tiger work best on trout, Redfish and snook.
Even if you don’t paint them or swap the hooks these traps are a good way to fill your boxes without braking the bank and still give the fish something different compared to the usually name brands that the fish see so much of.

No actionThis bait runs sideways and does not rattle. Do not but spend more and get the rattle trap.

Works greatCaught a huge crappie on the first cast. Caught many black bass using this lure. The action at slow retrieve is not as good but fish love it.
I can't figure out why but it actually works better than famous brands for me.
Hope the lure would weight more so it can sink deeper. the paint goes off easily so add a clear coat before using.

a great lure, a great priceThe first thing that led to buying these lipless crankbaits were the price of them. Then when I started looking at the colors they offered. It was even better. The lures look good in the water and has good movement. the hooks were better than expected, but it would be still a cheap switch to add some other hooks. Definitely a good buy.

Can I use it in saltwater?
Will it rust easily?
Asked by: eburg
Yes, you can... I have used it in saltwater and it did withstand inshore species. Just rinse it off with fresh water after each use.
