Rated 3 out of 5 by Milehis k from Great concept, poorly made Just so we are clear, this pole has probably saved me thousands of dollars. But there is a big caveat. They are poorly made. I have had 2 so far and might be taking it back for a third. if You’re fishing where they are, you will get snagged and you want to get those baits back. This will work, but the more you use it, the more you will dislike it. After a couple of uses, the segments no longer slide easily. I have the 18’ version, but currently it’s the equivalent of a 13’ Model because one of the segments is so hard to open. I took the first one back after I couldn’t operate 2 of the segments and now the replacement is getting the same way. The concept works fantastic, but the execution on this one is awful.

It shrinks down to a compact size for storage, but when extended gives you the length to reach the vast majority of snags. Absolutely great tool, that every boat owner should own!

I can't count the thousands of dollars saved over the last twenty five years with this product. I have tried other types of lure retrievers, but none do the job as well, efficiently, or as easily.

Rated 4 out of 5 by N2FshMr from Works well Works well, but is clumsy to use. Need to keep the line tight while you use it, which may take 3 hands. And it's heavy, if you drop it, it will sink like a stone. Tied a 5x3" float to mine and still lost it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DustinDennis from Worth the price and time I bought the 18' model and love it. It has removed multiple crank baits where I fish in wood areas with minimal effort. I was jigging and snagged into some wood about 17' down, which made me use the full extension. A little of the weak side for poking and applying pressure to remove when fully extended, but nerveless extremely effective. I highly recommend having one. I found once you locate your bait, twist the retriever as it works better then gouging.

Can this device be locked at different lengths or does it only lock when fully extended? How long is it when not in use?

58" retrackted, 18' extended.It has 4 compression fitting and will lock down any length in between.
