Great purchase.Only bought one to start. Getting another soon. Holds my 17ft Grizzly in place. Sometimes a little too good. But that's what it's supposed to do.

Holds in the windIf you are in the wind on the lakes or rivers in Oklahoma you know how hard it is to anchor to fish & not be blown off your spot. This anchor digs into the bottom to hold you. When you want to leave they still pull up easy. Great product and good price.

River anchorLike vinyl Coating - helps keep crud & mud out of boat. Wish the coating was red other than that perfect, better hold than a mushroom - great stern "lunch hook"

Good anchorI live & fish on Lake Barkley, a very big TVA lake formed by daming the Cumberland river. The Lake has a pretty good current & mostly a soft muddy bottom. This anchor works very well for these conditions & will hold my 18 foot aluminum fishing boat in most all conditions. I had to buy a new one due to losing my old one with a broken shackel.

Best anchor ever purchasedI use the 15 lb anchor on a 18'6" bass boat for lakes or river. once anchor hits bottom the boat does not move no matter how strong the wind or current is.

Boat anchorThe anchor works great with my small pond cruiser. I may not neet 12#, but this will allow for wind and if I want to use it in the river it will be comforting to have the holding power.
what size anchor would be ideal for the 2018 Bass Tracker Heritage. Texas fishing?
Asked by: HSB3
Hi, Deciding on a certain size of anchor can be a bit of a guessing game. Since conditions are always changing, there is no "right" size for the job at hand. One misconception people make when shopping for an anchor is the heavier the better. This is just not true. Physical size, rather than weight, is actually a better indicator of the anchors holding ability. (Some anchors that only weigh 5lbs. can hold in excess of 1,000 pounds!)
When it comes to choosing an anchor, bigger is almost always better. Bigger anchors have more strength to resist breaking, occupy more of a surface area to resist pullout and will have more weight to penetrate deeper. Go with the biggest anchor you can get by with for the size of your watercraft; the last thing you need when rough weather arrives is an inadequate anchor that doesn't do the job.

Do these anchors hang up in rocks?
I fish the St Lawrence River with fast current and rocky shoals and have lost anchors in the past because they wedge up in rocks and you can't break them free. I am planning to fish around rock jettys at Panama City and I'm worried about hanging this river anchor up there as well. Anybody had any experience with these anchors in rocky conditions?
Asked by: muskymayhem
Thank you for your inquiry. I have not heard of anyone dealing with getting hung up on rocks with this particular anchor, but this anchor type is designed for muddy river bottoms. You may want to give the Bass Pro Shops Mushroom Anchor a try. See SKU#: 1066366.

How well will it hold in various types of bottoms?
I fish lakes and rivers from mud to hard marl and or gravel. My present anchors - full mushroom - don't hold on drop offs or in windy conditions even with a good length of rope out.
Asked by: LouDman
It holds very well in soft bottoms & if you have bought a big enough one in harder bottoms.
