Great qualityI have been fishing with some older reels that are getting hard to find parts for. I tried a Pflueger Supreme, but they do not like cold or wet weather. I was told this reel is made by Daiwa for bps, so I thought I'd give it a try. Took two of them with me on my 9 day Minnesota trip and they did not disappoint! We had some cold weather (26 one morning ), and fished in rain as well. They both worked flawlessly and I caught a 20" smallie with one of them. The drag is very smooth as well. If you want a great reel without paying and arm and a leg, I suggest you give this one a try!

Great bargainI dont think most folks are keeping in mint that these reels are not $250 shimanos and Abu garcias. Also most reviewers are using them for some other type of fishing than what they are marketed for. That being said at $119 this reel is definitely close to the ballpark of those $250 shimanos. Worth a look for sure. I've had no issues with my 3000 series. I think the 3000 is the best all around size and even considering a 2 or 4 thou series for other work. Great reel to save money on to splurge on a more high end rod.

Didn’t last a weekAfter approx. 5 days of fishing jerkbaits for HUGEsmallies in da U.P. the anti- reverse started to malfunction...sporadically...which is the worst ..not knowing when and if it reel will stop when you want it to causing line assknots..totally frustrating!

not a good reeli took it on a fishing trip and didn't have a good time it made me frustrated that a reel this bad existed whenever i try and reel back it stops mid reel and gets stuck i have to pull really hard to get it unstuck

very impressedI bought this to try it out in what I fish which is saltwater. Very impressed at the drag and the smoothness. We caught over 55 Spanish mackerel on 10lb line, the reel performed superbly. you will not be dissapointed.

Does this reel have a screw-in / thread on handle? Or is it one of those hex key handles where the screw locks in from the opposite side?
