Solid Reel For The MoneyI have fished this reel several times in the last two months and I love everything about it. I am comparing it to reels that are similarly priced and even above its price range. I have several Daiwa Zillion reels and the Johnny Morris Platinum is on par with them for performance. That is a $100 price difference at Retail Pricing. The reel is light weight, comfortable in my hand, easy to set up/dial in, retrieve is smooth and it casts very well straight out of the box. If I had any complaints at all it would be with the size of the side cover release. I have big hands and it is a little difficult to get my fingers in there to pull the release. This is a very minor issue and one that most people would not have issue with. I would rate this reel 9.9/10 and easily recommend it. If this changes after a season's fishing then I will edit my review.

My favorite BaitcasterBass Pro has always had nice rods and good reels. So it surprised me when I saw one of these for the first time. It's at a whole different level of quality. I have since bought 7 of them. No issues with any of them and I am basically replacing all of my bait casters to these.

PerfectI bought this reel for everything from topwater to senkos to crankbaits and it can throw everything perfectly. I've only had this reel for about a month and already caught my pb 8lbs (which it handled perfectly). Honestly can't explain how perfect this reel is. I have the 8.3:1 gear ratio and I love it. I paired this reel with a Johnny Morris platinum signature baitcaster rod and I got it in 7ft 1in mh and I love the rod also. I've had shimanos and abu's but I like this a lot more. For the money this is the best reel you can get. If your thinking of getting I would definitely recommend it.

PerfectionI was a Shimano Curado person when it comes to baitcasters until I used this reel. Now, I'm switching over. It's sleek profile fits my hand perfectly. It doesn't weigh much and in doing so, i fished with it all day. and didn't get tired. The handle on the retriever feels good on your fingers and this reel casts a mile! I couldn't believe how far i was able to cast my lure with this reel, thus covering more water. The retrieve and drag system is continuously super smooth. A job well done. Lets see the durability of it throughout the years.

Simply awesomeHave been using the pro qualifier baitcaster for a few seasons now. After getting some gift cards I decided to get this reel. I have ZERO regret. This reel is simply amazing, I got the 8.3:1 for flipping. Handles amazing, from super smooth casts to how it handles bringing the fish in. If you are considering this reel you won't have any regrets!

Steelhead/ SalmonI bought this reel this year to treat myself to a nice river casting rod and it was the best decision I think I could have made. I own a quantum smoke and a few other nice bait casters but this one takes the cake!! It comes in left handed crank which I prefer and it is smoooth!!! I recommend over and over!
What Rod would yo recomend for this reel IN A TWO PIECE 6'6"

Is this a modified lews tournament pro speed spool?
Asked by: bobhanks
Does this reel have a cast control knob that makes audible clicks as you adjust the tension on the spool? Does this reel have a braid ready spool where you can tie directly to a notch on the spool rather than using backing?

What are the drawbacks (if any) to purchasing the significantly faster model of this reel?
Thanks!!!

is right hand mean you crank with your right hand
Asked by: deth
Most such reels traditionally have the handle on the right side. That means a right-handed caster will make a cast and then switch the rod to the left hand so the reel can be cranked with the right hand.Thank you for your question.
