High quality rod and reel!Like most bass fishermen, I have several rods and reels. I matched the reel with the Med. Heavy rod. It's light and the reel is easy to tune to what ever weight lure you tie on. I've been fishing a jig on my setup and the sensitivity and hook sets are great. I'll be adding a second combo soon!

Still going strong 2 seasons laterPurchased the med heavy combo 2 seasons ago. So far this rod and reel have been equal in performance and quality to my G Loomis and Legend X . Have galled everything from 14lb channel cat to today's 7 lb 8 oz largemouth. The reel with proper maintenance has stood too to toe with my $499.00 Diawa Steez SV TW and all of my Abu Garcia's.. strong affordable great quality...

Long and Light!Got the 6’9” combo about a month ago. Using it in Florida this winter and has become my go to setup. It casts the proverbial mile and the combo is nice and light and well balanced. If I’m in the market for a new rod and reel, I’d get another.

Excellent comboWent with a 7’1 medium fast, combos so unbelievably light I wish I would’ve went with a med. heavy! I use it for anything & everything from top water with light weed cover, flipping docks, swim jigs, you name it. My by far favorite combo & im itching to buy another!

Great rods and reels!I bought both a 7'4" MH and 7'10" heavy rods and put 8.3:1 reels on both.
I use the MH with 12# fluorocarbon and fish weightless wacky rig and feel subtle hits and can still set the single hook well and have landed a 7# bass with this new setup.
With the Heavy rod I use fluorocarbon 20# with a Texas rig grub or creature-bait and can maintain great control of the fish pulling them through structure.
Both rods perform very well, and the reel feels very smooth with great drag adjustability.

Great ComboI ordered the Platinum Rod and Reel just before they became available at my closest BPS. I received this combo about a week before they hit the showroom floor. I decided to not do a review until I had 3 or 4 months of fishing under my belt before I wrote anything. The rod and reel are both something to see. Now I love the color red so the rod just jumped out at me as soon as I pulled it out of the tube. I ordered the 7'4" MH rod as I wanted to use this rod primarily to fish plastics and of course the longer rod would assist in better hooksets. The reel is just as good as it looks and when it is attached to the rod it really makes a great combination to look at. I chose to get the reel in the 6.8:1 gear ratio. The reel is easy to set up and when coupled to this rod it seems like it cast a mile. The retrieve is smooth and the drag is outstanding. I have caught probably 50 bass with it since new with many in the 3 to 7 pound range. The rod has plenty of backbone to pull the fish out of the brush or from under boat docks. The pic I am posting is of a nice 4 pounder that I pulled out from under a dock at night while night fishing a few weeks ago. He tried to go deeper under the dock but I turned him and hauled him out with ease. The rod comes with Winn Grips and has micro guides making it not only comfortable for all day casting but also allowing you to get that extra distance on your cast. The reel has performed flawlessly and the drag is very smooth. I own a couple of Shimano Chronarch Ci4's and I actually like this Platinum reel much better than the both of my Chronarch's. Overall this combination is quality and it will be worth every dime you spend.

all of the reels that are shown on the page show they are left hand retrieve. So, i was wondering if these could be bought in right hand retrieve.
