The Bass Pro Shops® Fuel Filter and Water Separator Kit increases fuel efficiency by removing water, dirt and other impurities from your fuel. The kit is designed for use with any 2- and 4-cycle outboard, inboard and inboard/outboard motors and includes a bracket and spin-on-style filter. When bracket and filter are put together, the height is 6.75". Filter has a 10 micron rating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by lfarley from fuel water separator I had got 40 gallons of bad gas, was not sure what to do caused all kinds of problems. Put in some fuel conditioner and added the fuel water separator and have not had a problem since. even burning the bad gas. I know i will have to get a new filter soon, but it is well worth it. It also has plenty of flow for a 250 yamaha.

It had been running rough and stalling out, and I figured out that water in the fuel was the problem. I installed this filter, and bingo-problem solved. Installation was easy. The only tricky part was finding the right space in the cubbyholes near the engine to mount the filter holder. I followed the directions, and had no leaks. Since I put this on, I've had no issues with the engine, and that included a week's vacation "up north" running the boat a couple hours every day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by stactheace from EXCELLENT I purchased this filter kit at the Bass Pro Shop Store in Orlando Fl. This filter system was everything I wanted for my 21ft Pontoon boat. It was easy to install in the motor mount well in front of the SUZUKI 90 hp motor. It was so easy to install, I used 3 stainless bolts to mount it. Being there, it is easy to change the filter any time. You need to purchase 1/4 mpt thread w/ proper slip or threaded fitting for your fuel line. Just follow directions. The hardest part was selecting the right place to mount the filter holder, and ease of changing the filter when needed

I have an outboard motor and the filter didn’t come with any fittings for rubber hoses. So they had to be purchased along with clamps. After installing the unit I found that fuel wouldn’t flow into the filter and I had to drill out the intake to the filter before it would draw any fuel from the gas tank. It apparently had gunk in it. I’m hoping I’m the only person with this problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Wotfishingteam from Product looks good I just received my fuel filter & when I opened the box, saw that it did not come with the required barbs for the fuel lines to attach to. Just make sure if you buy this to also get the barbs. I will write another review after I run the boat with the filter installed. It looks like a good product though. Shipping was quite slow however so be prepared for that.

The inlet and outlet options make installation a breeze, will fit/work in almost any space or configuration. There are no clamps, brass fittings or thread sealer included, I'm guessing if they were this would drive the price up. So, figure on spending another $5-6 to complete the install.

I have a 2016 Mercury 150 4 stroke. Will I need to remove the factory fuel filter from the engine after installing this, to prevent starving the engine of fuel?

I would think the answer is no. I ran one of these on a smaller motor and my engine dealer recommended keeping both in place. These are larger and therefore I imagine their flow rate and therefore resistance will be higher than the one in the outboard.

There are 2 arrows in and 2 arrows out???

There are 2 arrows in and 2 arrows out, also there is 1 more plug on the back... does it matter which in and out I use and what is the separate plug for on the back?

Another reason: flexibility based on your mounting situation. You can have the in and out both on either side, or you can have one on each side. Basically you install the in and out hoses in the appropriate hole based on your situation and then plug the other two.
