Bass Pro Shops Fast Shine
Bass Pro Shops® Fast Shine is easy to use. Just spray on and wipe to add a glossy shine and UV protection to fiberglass painted surfaces, polished metal, rubber, vinyl, and plastic. Fast Shine is also a very effective waterless cleaner for fast cleanups and to remove bug or bird stains. Contains special PTEF polymers that bond to the treated area for maximum durability. Ideal for cars, trucks, and ATVs, too.

Suitable Aerospace 303 Protectant Replacement?I bought this to protect my polyethylene kayaks from UV sun damage while in shaded outdoor storage. I have been using Aerospace 303 protectant, but this stuff caught my eye as being both safe on a variety of surfaces and a UV protectant for a little over half the price of 303 and Star Brite. The pros? Well, it smells good... perhaps too good. My fingers still smell like cotton candy hours later after application. And I wonder if the synthetic fragrance would naturally attract insects to any surfaces I prep with this. This product buffed into the material easily and gave a nice gloss shine. One thing I did note is the surface felt dry after just several minutes with no greasy feeling; when I use Aerospace 303, there is a greasy residue left on the surface for days after usage. This could be a advantage for this Bass Pro Fast Shine, leaving little residue and streaks if you're worried about cosmetics. But I do wonder if that means there will be lesser UV protection in the long run.
While there are kayak specific protectants, I've found them to be overpriced and just repackaged same brand general protectants with nothing special added. I'd venture to say this particular Bass Pro spray is made by Star Brite, given the near identical bottles and both containing PTEF.
So is the product good? Well, I don't care about the cosmetics... I only want UV protection for my kayaks so the plastic doesn't dry and brittle. Does it work? Well, I'd have to use this product for about 5 years before giving a definitive answer on that.
