Junk.I bought this on the way to deer camp because my hunting partner forgot his. Coffee is more important than toilet paper at deer camp, as you know. So, I got up at 445am to start the coffee. At 530 the coffee still had not started percolating. Upon inspection, the bottom plate was not firmly attached to the stem. I removed the basket, looked at it under the light, and noticed that the crimp was not crimped because the cheapest and thinnest metal known to man was not correctly formed and shaped, thus not forcing the hot water up the stem. We ended up dumping the basket into the pot for some wholesome "cowboy" coffee. I saved the pot to heat water for tea and rinsing dishes at deer camp. Maybe other people were lucky, and I just got a lemon...

great for cowboy coffeeI have used this product before and it sucks af far as percolating ground coffee. But, grab yourself a bag of your favorite blend of coffee beans , fill just enough to cover the bottom and the rest to the top with water and after ten min. over a hot fire BANG! the best cowboy coffee ever!!!

Nastalgea has its drawbacksThis little pot is a less than I have seen of the same quality, not much different from the old one. The grind basket assembly is weak aluminum. I could have gone with the SS pot at our local big box store, same price, 8 cups, SS basket assembly but feeling nostalgic. Over it performs good if you know a few tricks how to use it for grind free cups.
