Our Bass Pro Shops® CatMaxx™ 3000 Baitcast Reel is built like a tank to overpower gigantic catfish, even in swift current. The rigid, 1-pc. aluminum frame is the foundation—it houses a high-capacity, forged aluminum spool that is double-anodized for long-term durability. The lightweight aluminum sideplates house the high-strength brass gearing and a 4 bearing system with Powerlock™ instant anti reverse. The Bass Pro Shops magnetic braking system is quickly adjustable via an external dial, to ensure long casts without overruns. The drag system is a calibrated stack of 3 carbon fiber and 3 TPFE discs for ultra-smooth, powerful function. Equipped with a bait clicker switch, so you'll know right away when something is moving off with your bait..

Worst reel ive ownedJust bought this reel a couple weeks ago first time I used it the level wind line guide rod fell out then got jammed and stripped level wind cog gears poor quality internals too many small parts I will never purchase another catmaxx reel

GREAT REEL FOR THE PRICEI BROUGHT TWO OF THESE REELS AT CHRISTMAS..THEY HAVE BOTTH BEEN GREAT REELS..NO REAL PROBLEMS..THE BAIT CLICKER DOES ENGAGE A LITTLE EASY ..BUT THATS NOT REALLY A PROBLEM..I WILL BE BUYING SEVERAL MORE OF THEM

Never would u buy againGot one 2 months ago .. Only used it to fish small rivers, so at best biggest cat pulled in with it might of been 5 lb. It does cast really good but now after the few uses i have used it , it is very hard hard to reel back in for the first 3 feet and sometimes it does not want to lock back so its just open spanes ... Have to say Bass Pro droped the ball on this one!!!

Hands down one of the best catfish reels!!!I’ve got four of these and will purchasing a few more live the way the function and the only complaint I have is there’s only one color to choose from other than that excellent fishing reel!!!!!

Not a bad real fishing channel catI win one of these rules it worked really well in every end of season I always clean my reels and when I clean the cat Maxx real I was very disappointed on how it’s put together some parts are very poor mad and is very hard to put back together for someone that would not know how it goes together overall it’s a nice real that’s why I say it’s good for channel cat because some parts are plastic when they should be metal

Would not buy another oneI bought this reel last summer thinking it would be a decent reel for the price. When I received the reel it had a screw broke off on it. So I contacted them and no problem they sent me a new one. This took about three weeks for my other reel to finally show back up at my house. I didn't use it till this year, and that was only twice that I took it out fishing. The third time out the reel fell completely apart on me and would not work at all. I would not recommend to anybody.
This reel is recommended for fresh water fishing. However, if it has been exposed to
saltwater, the spool should be removed and the entire reel rinsed with fresh water. Dry with a
soft cloth and lubricate the reel.

Hi, the Bass Pro Shops CatMaxx CMX3000B Baitcast Reel SKU: 2236145 is a right hand retrieve. The CatMaxx is not offered in a left hand at this time.

Can you make the bait alarm any louder it's to soft I would buy a pair but alarms not loud enough
