Pretty GoodHave been able to take it out 5 times now and I'm happy with it. I'm able to lift it up on top of the car by myself. I'm 5'4" 104 lbs and this kayak is comfortable and easy to use.
Only thing I'm unhappy about is after 5 uses both of the handles are tearing. Unable to find out how to get replacement handles

beware of seatI love this kayak but the seat will rust out within the year and even break apart. why would a manufacture make a seat that corrodes. I guess because you will have to replace it at $100 a shot each year.

This one is my baby!I purchased my D10 in March of this year and it's the 4th kayak in our stable (we also have 2 Pelican Catch 120's & a Old Town Vapor 10)
I started out using the Catch 120 never having kayaked before I wanted something super stable and very comfortable which it is but also to slow and hard to maneuver
in the wind, so I tried our Old Town Vapor 10 it was like a corvette on the water but after about 20 minutes or so it became very uncomfortable in the sitting department.
After a fair amount of research "Enter the Ascend D10" I knew that I wanted a sit-in
kayak but I also wanted that lawn chair style seat the Catch 120's have and the maneuverability of the Vapor 10 and the Ascend D10 has it all it's the total package It's light and easy to carry to the water, the huge cockpit makes entering and exiting a breeze, it's super stable and ultra comfortable and because of that I spend many more hours on the water enjoying myself. It takes the wind and the waves with no problem, I just put my waterproof Bluetooth speaker in the back fire up a playlist on my phone and spend a relaxing day on the water. In short this is by far the best Yak for the money it's loaded with features and comfort so the only question left is what are you waiting for?

Great Beginner KayakI bought this kayak, my first one ever, about 2 & a half years ago & love it. It's perfect for beginners. I highly recommend it. It maneuvers easily, has tons of storage space, is comfortable & light weight. It's a little tricky to get it on top of my car without help but I was able to do it without much difficulty...a step stool proved
handy for this. The worst thing about it is that dings and scratches are VERY noticeable BUT luckily I don't mind such things on outdoor recreational equipment.

First Kayak PurchaseThis is a great "beginner" kayak for someone who doesn't need anything super fancy and just likes to leisure paddle. It's lightweight, easy to maneuver, and quite comfortable once you get the seat and pedals just right. Plus, it's such a pretty purple color! Overall, there's tons of cargo space for coolers and dry bags (which you'll definitely need since there aren't any dry compartments). I purchased a Carlisle Day Tripper paddle from Amazon because the Ascend paddles in the store didn't impress me (and they didn't match!)
My only complaint is that there was something defective either with the seat or seat slots in the kayak so my husband had to make some additional cuts in the kayak for the seat to fit ... it was so difficult for him to get it in that I'm hesitant to take it out, which defeats the purpose of having a removable seat. Other than that and the fact that every minor nick, ding or scratch looks incredibly obvious on the purple and black surface, I'm very happy with my first kayak purchase!

great purchasei got my kayak last spring and used it all summer on the river.it handles well( i am a beginner} and i have yet to tip over.big enough for a cooler in the back,or you can remove screen cover and add another seat.it has a cup holder in the front as well as another holder for whatever.i love this smaller kayak as sometimes when the river is low you may have to drag it in spots..it is much lighter than my bofriends, and way easier to put in the back of his truck, and the color is awesome! i would recommend to all younger people and women as it is shorter and so easy to manuever.love this kayak!

LOVE LOVE LOVE my kayak!I bought this kayak almost 4 years ago and it's the best I've ever had! Very buoyant, crashes through waves like a knife, and is easy to navigate in the wind. Plus, my dog rides in the back, no problem. Lots of storage, easy to transport, and durable. There's no reason I would ever need to get another.

Straight, Stable, & ComfortableI was looking for a kayak for my wife and we looked at several different manufacturers and styles within the 10' range. She was sold on the color; however, the seat was the clincher. The feature that came up over and over was the seat. It was the only kayak, within this price point, with the stadium-style seat. She stated that the seat is very comfortable even after a 5-hour paddle around a lake and she likes how it tracks straight. I have a Wilderness Tarpon 100 and I can almost catch up with her most times. It is a good combination of reliable stability, good tracking, and moderate speed. She likes the open area behind the cockpit for the cooler and puts her dry bag under in the front behind the pedals. We have logged about 40 hours so far on lakes and a river and she is very happy. Very nice for a recreational style kayak. Perfect size for our needs for a fun day of paddling. Good value!
My husband and I love our Ascend kayaks. We have to put them on top of campershell as we pull a travel trailer. What kind of rack does everyone use? No matter what we do the kayak slips and tilts in the rack. We’ve tried everything. Appreciate it

Is This a flat bottom does it tip eqsy
Asked by: Nardelli
No it is not a flat bottom. As for the tipping, I have only tipped mine once when I did it on purpose to see how hard or easy it would be to get myself out off if it did tip.
FYI: It was fairly easy to get out of.

I am looking for a kayak for my entire family. I have a 14 year old daughter and a 9 year old daughter. Would they be able to use this kayak? We would use it on a lake.

From personal experience, with my own family, yes both ages can use a ten foot kayak on a lake. Please make sure that you are following all safety guidelines for your area.
