Ruger Single-Six Convertible Single-Action Revolver in Stainless Steel
The rugged reliability, and the safe carrying characteristics of the Ruger® Single-Six® Convertible Single-Action Revolver make it a superb sidearm to take along on most outdoor adventures, including backpacking, fishing, and big game hunting. The Single-Six is also a fun gun for plinking, and a great choice for teaching shooters the fundamentals of handgun shooting. Ruger's patented Transfer Bar mechanism provides a block between the hammer and firing pin until the hammer is fully cocked all the way to the rear and the trigger is pulled. With the hammer down over a loaded chamber, the Single-Six can be dropped directly on the hammer with no chance of the revolver firing—an important feature for a sidearm carried in rough country. The frame, cylinder, and barrel are constructed with corrosion resistant stainless steel for ease of maintenance in any environment. The Ruger Single-Six Convertible comes with 2 cylinders; one that is compatible for shooting .22 Long Rifle, Long, and Short, the other for shooting .22 WMR (Winchester Magnum Rimfire). The 2 interchangeable cylinders provide tremendous versatility for hunting and protection with one firearm, as well as finding compatible ammo in times of scarcity. The Ruger Single-Six Single-Action Revolver comes with a fixed, ramp front sight that facilitates drawing the sidearm from a holster, and an adjustable rear sight that can be precisely dialed in for hitting small targets with various types of ammunition. Awesome gun !My stepdad was a Hawthorne police officer & picked up 2 of these back in 1982 for $200 each. He gave it to me then & I was 18 years old. I have shot the heck out of mine since & it is an incredible gun. My stepdad never fired his & I have it now. I have 20 firearms & several Rugers & I love them all. 10-22 rifle is 1. Love it !

Another great RugerBought myself a birthday present. Gun is very solidly built. I will be changing the sights, but, that is because of my eyes. The two cylinders for .22LR and WMR make the revolver versatile. Very easy to clean

Great gun for beginners or pros!I'm a novice shooter and I was told a .22 revolver is a great starter gun while learning gun safety. This gun is very solidly made with good balance and the stainless steel looks great. It also comes with an aditional 22 magnum wheel. The handle fits my hands well and I like the wood grips although there are other options available. My only dislike was the black sights which look like an original six shooter but would be improved with the optional Ruger fire sight fiber optic sight set. A great gun for the range and i look forward to many years of use.

fun and versatile hand gunI have always wanted a .22 cal handgun that had both .22 long rifle and .22 magnum capability. I also wanted one I could carry and shoot without excess concern about it getting rusty and crusty. This stainless Ruger fills the bill. It also has the benefit of feeling like a larger caliber single action in the way it handles. I just wish I would have bought one years ago!!

Best present ever!My wife bought me a stainless single six convertible 22/22mag in 1976 for my birthday.
We have shot thousands of rounds through this over the years with never a problem.
It will be an heirloom given to my children when I'm gone and I'm sure they'll enjoy it just as much as we have.

SINGLE SIX - GREAT GUNI purchased the convertible single six in a 6 inch barrel about 2 yrs ago. It is a great gun. It is accurate and a blast to shoot. It is a great gun for a beginner. I put a Williams fire sight on the front - very easy to install. My wife loves this gun. I bought the single ten based upon how great the six was. May just be the specific gun but had to send the Ten back twice, once for the cylinder and once for failure to fire issues. Ruger has great customer service. The Ten is much heavier and IMO does not have the same feel as the Six. Although the Ten looks great, it is a different gun than the Six and the extra 4 round capacity makes the gun much bulkier. I will sell the Ten but will never sell the Six.

Over 35 years and still love it!I purchased this pistol in 1978 and if I had to do it again; it would be my fist choice today. I gave $179 + tax back then and it has been some of the best money I ever spent. It's simple, durable, dependable, versatile, and shoots as straight as most are capable of. Mine has a few dings now, but I still look at it like it was my new bride. This gun has NEVER failed me, and I would say that it has had well over 5,000 rounds put through it. This is the kind of gun that they will have to pry from my dead cold hand. Thanks Ruger!

I wanted one for a Long TimeGreat single action .22, I like the new model over the old because of the way the loading gate dis- engages the cylinder latch.
No need to talk about its accuracy- its there .
Way does my Ruger single six stainless model not have a adjustable rear sight

Can 17HMR be used in the 22 wmr cylinder ...thanks

Thank you for choosing Bass Pro Shops. This pistol will only accept .22 lr or .22 WMR. Unfortunateoy .17 HMR will NOT work with this pistol.
