"As much as anybody, hunters love freedom. That's just what the Turkey Lounger provides, and that's why I've been using one since day one, for nearly 20 years. The self-supporting design gives me the freedom to hunt in treeless terrain and sit right where I need to. It allows me to keep my gun up on my knee in perfect shooting position so my focus is squarely on incoming birds. There's only one place to get yoursBass Pro Shops." Walter Parrott RedHead® Pro Hunting Team
"About 20 years ago, I started using the Bucklick Creek Turkey Lounger whenever I hunted turkeyand I still do today. The best thing about it is the self-supporting seat. It allows me to sit comfortably and in good shooting position, especially in areas where trees are few and far between. With the Turkey Lounger, I'm free to set up where I need to instead of having my position dictated by the terrain." Jerry Martin Leader, RedHead® Pro Hunting Team
No trees around? No problem! With our Turkey Lounger, you can set up anywhere. Take it from Walter and Jerry—our patented vest/chair system is the ultimate companion in the field. For nearly 20 years, it's been their go-to vest for turkey hunting. Because the drop-down seat is self-supporting, you can set up anywhere, in any terrain, and rest comfortably in a good shooting position. It's especially helpful out West and in the Great Plains where trees may be few and far between. Plus, the Smart Pocket System provides quick, quiet access to your calls and accessories, with pockets placed so you can get to your gear with minimal motion.

Best yetJust used this vest turkey hunting for the first time yesterday. Wow! So much more comfortable compared to sitting up against a tree (which is almost never comfortable or in the right place for where you want to set up). My only suggestions for improvements would be to slightly enlarge the box call pocket (it's a tight fit for my call) and add a hanger loop inside the hydration bladder pocket so your water bladder doesn't collapse to the bottom of the pocket as you empty it (all my other hydration-equipped packs have this feature) and lastly, the shell holding loops could be tightened a little bit - they are kind of loose and the shells pop out, ending up at the bottom of the pocket where you have to dig for them.

Poorly made....lasted 2 days.I have owned a previous version of this vest for almost 10 years. It was starting to fall apart in places so I decided to replace it.
I picked up this vest the Friday before the TN opener. On first inspection the material seemed much lighter than on my previous one. It did have a lot of pockets and plenty of places for all of my gear.
3rd day of the season I went to put on the vest and 2 of my pot calls fell out. The stitching on the bottom of the call holder came completely undone. Luckily it happened at the truck and not in the woods. Since then the other pot call pocket has had the same problem.
Very cheap materials and poor construction. It's a shame because the design is great and I would be willing to pay more for a vest like this that was well made.
I will be returning this vest as soon as possible and looking for other options. If you are an avid turkey hunter and spend a lot of time in the woods do not waste your money here.

Cheap SeatThe product is a great design. That being said it is made extremely poor. I am six feet 200 pounds and the seat cannot hold me upright. that being said it cannot hold up my wife that is only 120 pounds. It is extremely cheap and very uncomfortable. As others have said in their reviews if the seat was reinforced and wasn't made so cheap It would fix the problem. I would have returned the product after my first hunt but it was past 30 days since I purchased the product so I cannot return it. Needless to say I am very disappointment in this $100+ product and would not recommend it.

PLEASE SELL THE DESIGNI have been using Bucklick Creek Turkey Loungers for well over a decade. I have one of the original vests and it is still in decent shape. It is very well made and the seat design is the best I've ever seen. I bought the RedHead vest a few years ago and it is falling apart everywhere. i have to sow it and repair it before every season. Please make a higher quality vest with the same seat design. Now that Bass Pro bought Cabelas let the Cabelas apparel design department take a crack at it. I would pay up to $175 or more for a quality vest.
Bottom line is great design poor quality.

Comfortable CompromiseI wanted the women's version due to sizing, but they don't offer all of the same features on it. Not sure why, I guess we don't need waterproof zippers etc. I bought this one on recommendation from an avid turkey hunter and made it through turkey season pretty happy with the purchase. I had to size all of the straps down as small as possible and still have to figure out what to do with the extra strap length, but the storage capabilities are endless. I loaded this thing down with everything I needed for a full day in the woods and still had room. The seat is comfortable, but I always bring a thin foam cushion for long days and it folds right up in the seat. Easy/quick setup when you're in a hurry and the lounger design is very comfortable. I wear a medium (8/10) women's and this wasn't too bulky for me. I would say spend the extra money on this men's vest unless you are a really petite lady or don't hunt much.

Excited RecipientI bought this vest for my husband who hunts not only turkey, but deer, hog, and coyote. He was really impressed with the construction of the vest and all the different pockets for the calls. Also, he was happy to see that they even thought to put a "pouch" of sorts on the back to carry the turkey once "harvested". The built in chair is good, even for deer hunting in a stand for the support it adds while seated. It's light weight and very practical.

Pretty Good VestThe vest works pretty well but could use a couple of improvements. The fabric is slick and noisy. You might could wash that out but I don't know of anyone who washes their turkey vest. I guess it's the nature of the beast but you have to unbuckle the vest to fold out the seat. I think the seat needs more padding but it does provide good back support. Since it is made to accomodate a hydration pack I think it should come with one.

Thank you for choosing Bass Pro Shops. Any standard hydration bladder with a capacity of up to 2L will fit this vest.

Have the quality issues with this vest been addressed?
Has the stitching where the upper straps attach to the back of the vest been reinforced and straightened?
I bought my first RedHead® Bucklick Creek Turkey Lounger Vest in 2004 and LOVED it! I use it for Turkey and fro Coyote Hunting.
In March of 2012 I bought the 2nd one because I plain wore the 1st one out...
My newest vest lasted 2 days in the field when the stitching where the upper straps for the seat attach to the back of the vest tore out, leaving the vest almost useless. (several people have shared the same issue in the Reviews)
I would love to buy this again! There is nothing like it on the market... But I just can not pay this much for a product that only last 2 days...
Please tell me that this issue has been addressed and fixed.

I had similar issues in different spots of the vest. It really is a shame because it's an awesome design.
