Rated 5 out of 5 by FinDeep from The carbon is an awesome unit I upgraded from my gen 3 unit yo the carbon as I fish on a center console and the screen clarity was a feature I liked. Knowing that all of the other components were the same and it was a simple bait and switch of the parent unit, it was an extremely easy and cost efficient upgrade. Yes, it is faster than my last unit (or seems to be at least), but I particularly have liked the durability of Lowrance as well as the ease of use with features particularly in the side/down scan. I can accurately find fish and bait in either side if my boat as stay on the school as it moves throughout the day.

Spend my time searching for bass a lot and the quality picture it prints with my structure scan 3D has blown me away. Would recommend this unit for anyone looking to outfit there new boat.

It loads and processes faster then any Lowrance product I have ever owned the past 25 years. I have it mounted in my console on my Skeeter ZX21. The best product Lowrance has come out with so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by walleyewilly from Amazing technology The Lowrance HDS Carbon 12 is the newest version of the touch screens that made breaking down lakes so much easier. The touch screen allows me to rename waypoints in seconds instead of having to scroll through the alphabet with buttons. It also allows me to switch between icons at the touch of a finger. When fishing Merritt Reservoir in Nebraska I can mark the trees and seedbeds. The biggest change is the ability to write notes on each waypoint. I can write a quick summary which would include weather, wind, the way I caught the fish, and the lure. If I was trolling I would make note of water depth, feet of line out, speed, lure, and color. I also like the export waypoint by region or lake. This allows me to share waypoints with friends or teammates. The Ranger 621 allows me to flush mount the 12” touchscreen and still have room to mount a second unit at the dash. The new Solarmax screen makes it easier to view the screen through your polarized sunglasses. The Carbon series is the ultimate experience. Scott Willis

I started out using a Lowrance Elite 7, then upgraded to a Lowrance HDS 12 and 9 Gen3. I loved my Gen 3 but the only "issue" I had with them is I found them to have a bit of lag when navigating through the menus. Since then I have upgraded to the HDS Carbons and what a difference! These units are fast! Zero lag and the quality of the SolarMAX screen is on a level of it's own! Thank you, Lowrance for building quality products that year after year lead the field in technology advancement.
