Q&A
The Bass Assassin® Shad Assassins' unique "fat belly" design draws more strikes than conventional jerkbaits. Soft body texture delivers a fleshy feel that keeps fish hanging on longer. Fish Shad Assassins on the top or below the surface, and you'll find the enticing tail action works in a variety of situations. Bass love 'em, but the Assassin is also a killer for stripers, sea trout, redfish, and other saltwater fish. The Shad Assassin features a unique slit in the belly, which allows you to fish the lure weedless and to set the hook easier. Hooking these lures through the head gives it great tail and body action.

Love theseUsed them for years for great catches. I always wondered why pumpkinseed was discontinued. Always the best color in the ponds I fish. Other colors work but not as well.

one of the bestI was recommend by a friend to get the bass assassin shad assassin 5" in the rainbow trout color. Well lets just say I caught my biggest smallie (22" 5 pounder) off this bait. ive also caught countless large mouth bass on this bait all 2+ pounders. over all I have to say this bait is my "go to" soft plastic for me.

best soft jerk bait usedHave used the bassassin bait for years, rate it 10 out of 10 for movement, fish attraction and whack on bass. I do wish they would bring back the arkansas shad color

Great Tail Whip ActionThis bait is awesome when used weightless and letting it sink and giving it a slight twitch, bait will move in all directions. One helpful tip to help prevent line twist is attach a swivel about 24” above the bait this way when it rolls the swivel will take the twist out

Consistent producerThis lure not only produces well, but also produces larger bass. It is my go to bait and I highly recommend it. Will be buying plenty more.

Bass AssasinIn my opinion the best speckled trout bait there is a 5" crystal shad. The only issue is the bait is to soft and tears easy. Try it you will love it.

they're average for the typeI think that they may have changed the formula of the plastic, because these weren't as soft as some of my older bags. I specifically purchased these instead of the Zoom super fluke for the softer compound-easier to drive the hook through, fewer missed fish. Unfortunately, they're a little tougher than I would like, but if you aren't using these in thick pads like I am, you probably would never notice.
Is there just one in each pack and if so are these good enough to pay $5 for just one? Thanks for your time.

question about this lure
how do u rig this and what is color is best for bass
can u rig texas style?
Asked by: vszero
Yes, you can attach this lure with a Texas rig. Each fishing location will be different; even each trip to the same area might have different results so there isn’t really a “Best” color to use when fishing. One color may work better one time but not as well the next time you fish. So, when selecting a lure color take a look at your surrounds (landscape and wildlife) to determine the color of lure to use. If the water is dark and murky (or stained) use bright and/or fluorescent colors that can draw the fish’s attention to the lure. If the water is clear, look around if the area and use colors which blend with the surrounds. If the area is rocky use a brown, tan, or a similar color. If there is grass and weeds then use more of the green colors. Each location will be different so try a good range of colors. Thank you for your question.
