For your consideration, a Colt 1911 chambered in .45 Auto. This piece is a limited edition commemorating the 1967 Semicentennial of the First World War Battle of Belleau Wood. Accordingly, it is based on the pre-A1 iteration of the 1911. The slide is roll-pressed with scenes of battle at left and banner with scroll trim at right -both chased in gold lacquer. The rosewood grips are inset with bronze medallions with associated imagery. Overall, the finish is a deep, gloss bluing.
