Description
Niquet with Purdey Type Action in 12 Gauge. Coin finished self opening sidelock action has safety button deactived, hidden third fastener, bushed strikers, side clips, and double triggers (front articulated). Action is engraved with 80% coverage well cut rose and scroll. Bottom of action is engraved "J. Niquet" " a Liege". Newer straight grip buttstock of well figured dark European walnut measures 14 1/4" over checkered wood butt. Stock features drop points and point pattern checkering. Matching splinter Defourney ejector forend as Anson release, central escutcheon is gold inlaid with a count's crown. The 27 5/8" dovetailed barrels are engraved "Julien Niquet 12 Bore Self-Opening Sidelock" on slightly raised game rib. Barrel flats are stamped with pre-1927 Belgian Nitro proofs for 2 1/2" chambers. STOCK: DAH: 2 1/2". DAC: 1 1/2". LOP: 14 1/4". CAST: approx. 1/4" on.
