RFI ~ 2A ~ 7.62 mm (1967)

This 1967 Post World War II bolt action rifle is an Enfield R.F.I. (Rifle Factory Ishapore) 2A chambered in 7.62 mm. It has a protected blade fixed front sight, a rear ladder sight, an aluminum butt plate, and sling loops top and bottom. This rifle was manufactured in India post WWII in 1967 by the Ishapore arsenal in India. India manufactured their own Enfield's in some form from 1900 to 1974 for the Indian Army. It has matching serial numbers on the receiver, rear sight and nose cap. The bolt handle has a different serial number. It has the standard black/blue finish on the metal parts. It has the standard matching ten round magazine. The metal finish is in generally good condition, with no observable rust apparent. Likewise, the wood is in generally good condition, with numerous light handling marks overall. The stock has a repair at the top of the butt stock adjacent to the butt plate.
