Merkel ~ 280EL ~ 28 Gauge

With a brass bead sight on the matte solid rib marked "No. 40 o. The 28" barrels have 2 3/4 inch chambers and choked (Improved Cylinder/Modified) with ejectors. The right barrel is marked "280 EL 28 GA" and the left has the "SAI" importer marking. The front sight is a brass bead on the matte solid rib. The coin finished scalloped Anson & Deely boxlock action features a detailed game scene engravings on both sides with flourishes of tight scroll work. The right side of the receiver is engraved with a two bird game scene with a three bird game scene on the left. The left side of the action appears to be signed "R.Kroth" in the lower left corner. The underside features sharp detailed scroll work with engraved tangs. Also features a thumb safety, double triggers, engraved trigger guard, checkered walnut splinter forearm with engraved hardware, English style straight grip stock with a serrated plastic Merkel buttplate. Length of pull is 14 3/8". This merkel is in fine excellent condition with a Serial # 388862.
