Description
This Remington UMC Model of 1911 in .45 Auto is in very good condition with moderate wear to the finish. This is a very rare example from a contract run of only 20,000 pistols made in 1917-1918. This also appears to possibly have unit markings on the bottom of the grip frame reading "E 2-56", possibly in reference to the 56th infantry regiment which saw combat in WW1 and were the honor guards for General Pershing during his tour of the city of Metz in France after the armistice. Would recommend contacting the national archives after purchase to confirm.
