Description
Product Brand Logo
This 1907 double action revolver is a Colt D.A. 38 Officers Model chambered in .38 Caliber. It is a First Issue, Second frame type. Colt introduced this revolver as a new Colt Target, and it was based on the New Army/New Navy frame style with its counterclockwise rotation of the cylinder. It is chambered for .38 Caliber and is known as the Officers Model Target. It has a finely checkered trigger and backstrap with beautiful checkered walnut stocks. The adjustable sights allow for elevation adjustment on the front sight, and windage adjustment on the rear sight. Being the second frame type, this piece has the conventional width trigger guard, and a slightly different front sight. It has the early style flat latch for opening the crane. The finish on this first model is a very high polish bluing with fire-blued accent parts on the trigger, hammer, and pins. The finish does show some light rust spots and freckling throughout the blued parts of the barrel, frame, cylinder and fore strap. The wood stocks appear to be original and are in very good condition but do show a compression mark toward the top of both the left and the right grip panel. There are no observable chips or cracks, however.
