Description
Union Switch & Signal M1911A1 chambered in .45 ACP. The M1911A1 is an improved version of the original M1911 that entered service in 1926. The U.S. military procured around 2.7 million M1911 and M1911A1 pistols during its service life. The pistol served as the standard-issue sidearm for the United States Armed Forces from 1911 to 1985. This pistol is in excellent condition with very light finish wear. It comes with one magazine. It is marked United States Property, ser # 1044269. This pistol was manufactured by the Union Switch & Signal company of Swissvale Pennsylvania. They primarily made railroad signaling equipment. They ultimately made 55,000 pistols which were serial numbered from 1041405 to 1096404. These are the second rarest of the M1911A1s, only the Singer is rarer.
