Winchester W Train and Defend Handgun Ammo
Good choice for CHL holders
For those who are serious about conceal carry I would highly suggest Winchester Train & defend.
My reasons are too many to list but lets start with price, the "Train" series is comparable to many range ammo brands out there, except this isnt any other range ammo. This is a 147gr. full metal jacket flat point that mimics the same ballisitics of a 147gr. hollowpoint. I have fired 150 rounds of "train" thru my M&P Shield 9 without a single failure. The felt recoil was a bit more snappy than standard 115gr. fmj however it was more accurate than 115gr and just as accurate as 124gr fmj. Another good reason is that the concept of using affordable practice ammo at the range that has the same ballistics as your carry ammo is a huge plus.
There are a few video reviews on you tube that surprised me on the "Defend" series. And that is what sold me on the brand. I have a CHL and my Shield is loaded up with Winchester "Defend" 9mm.

I purchased both the Training and Defense rounds about three weeks ago and had a great time shooting them with my Ruger LC9. I shot about 100 rounds of the Training ammo and never once had a problem. The 147 high grain does make a big difference compare to Remington UPC and Winchester 115 grain and they shot great. I also went through about 40 rounds of the Defense hollow point ammo and it shot very similar to the Training rounds. Definitely recommend this over the Remington UPC 115 grain or the Winchester. Really wish there was more in stock. Got so excited and basically used almost all of it.

Winchester 9mm Training Version
I write this review to document my findings with the first box of this ammo that I bought. Purchased 2 boxes from Bass Pro in April. Shot the first box on May10th. What I found was in both pistols (Ruger SR9 and Beretta 92FS) there were a lot of failure to ejects. In a box of 50, I shot 30 and had 8 falures (5 on Ruger, 3 on Berretta, shot more through the Ruger). With both guns, same day, over 200 rounds of other brands (3 other brands) with no failures. Examining the remaining 20 rounds showed scoring on the casing out of the box.
It is possible this was a bad batch and otherwise this is good Ammo, just reporting what happened to me. I have a second box that is not opened. I plan to open it and if I see the same scoring, return it to BPS. If no scoring, I will try that box and update this review if I can.

Very consistent performance in my Beretta Nano 9mm. Extremely clean burning with very little residue. Having a Train version and a Defend version with same ballistics is a big plus.
