Rated 2 out of 5 by brass rod the brush brass and cotton are of good quality. The rod is not of quality at all. Will brake with very little pressure. Other reviews said it was not Bass Pro's fault. All red Head products are made with Bass Pro"s Specs. That is why you should give honest reviews, so that Bass Pro will up the quality of their specs. Brass rods do come with more strength. Just look at older cleaning rod's that been around forever. March 29, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Redhead AR cleaning rod I received my Redhead AR cleaning kit and the first time I went to use it the rod broke when I attempted to put a little pressure on it while running a patch through the barrel. Not much pressure was applied as the patches are cut right and slide smoothly down the barrel. The metal, in my opinion, in the rod is too soft! It appears to be brass. A cleaning rod of this size, because of it's minuscule diameter, should not be aluminum or brass. Steel would be the material, or even a flexible plastic! This I do not blame in any way on Bass Pro Shops! October 21, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Threaded joints weak Well about the third time I pushed it down the barrel it broke at one of the threaded joints. In fairness I was pushing a little hard on a cotton swab. The swabs included are to big !!! You have to cut them in half so you don't have to hammer the rod down the barrel. Duh ;-( February 14, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Clean Up! This product is made of metal and will last a lot longer than the cheap plastic ones that some gun stores sell. Once again Bass Pro Shops carries a good quality product that is reasonably priced. December 31, 2010
