Nikon Rangefinder Tether
This is a very good piece of equipment for securing high dollar items. I have one on my GPS and am preparing to put one on my range finder. So far it has held up throughout the scouting season and is the perfect length to have secured around chest/waste belt. The only draw back I found was the larger split ring does not accomodate all equipment tether points. I found this with my current range finder where the split ring is too large to fit the small opening allowed for such use. However, this is easily fixed by purchasing a smaller split wring for the tether or to add to the tether point on specific items that have the same problem.

Not for bowhunting
This is a great retractable tether. But it is not quiet. So I will not use it again for hunting. The parts are hard plastic and there is no padding to stop things from rattling/clanking into each other. Last year this ended up coming off my rangefinder and sitting in my pack. I will be looking for something different for this year. Sorry Nikon. Nice try, but you need to refine it for bowhunters who need to be silent.

Not Practical in the Field
I was recently on S.Texas hunt to find out that this item was very noisy. I was hunting out a doublebull blind (T2). It was well brushed in. I was downwind of where I had seen nearly 15 does the previous morning and when they came out, I pulled on this item to get a range before I was going to make my shot...and it made a noise that spooked the does out of there. I wouldnt recommend this item because it is noisy. Its not really noisy..but just enough to possibly blow your hunt!

Love this Tether
I love this tether, I really can't say a bad thing about it! It works just as it is supposed to & has never got stuck or not retracted.
