Garmin echo 301dv Fishfinder 2 5 1 1
Not the Best Garmin I have owned Garmin and Lowrance electronics in the past, and have preferred Garmin. With this particular product however, I'd advise others to steer clear. I bought this depthfinder 2 years ago. I keep my boat in the garage and fish about a dozen times a year. The plugs for the power and transducer are poorly designed. They pull out frequently, which is super annoying. The base is made so that the whole unit can be detached easily. Good idea, but executed with poor quality plastic. Mine broke off completely. There is one piece of metal in the mounting bracket. After 2 years it is badly rusted. The depth finder does keep up with my boat, even at higher speeds. The color screen can be seen even in sunny conditions. It's just a shame that the components aren't up to par with what I would expect from Garmin. April 7, 2014
