Great Product This rod and reel combo is a great. The reel works smoothly and I've had no problems at all. I like that the rod is in two pieces for transporting. July 24, 2012
fishing rod I thought that this was a pretty good deal for a spinning combo. When i first got it the line was getting tangled and made me loose my head. Then i had it relined with a 8 pound line. I haven't had a problem since. overall good product. July 5, 2012
Great Quality for the Price Good looking, lightweight, and fun to use. Got it rigged up with some 12lb mono and took it to the lake today for some trout and bluegill fishing. casts smooth and retrieves well. handle is comfortable and the 7foot rod has good action. happy purchase June 26, 2012

We use 6 weight on the ultralight combo. Seems to give us a good balance between feel, strength and invisibility. Brand is your preference.

A:
I would put on about 8-10 pound line.

It works well. Just to tell you it gets tangled really easy.
