Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 23 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by winch power I bought this winch to replace the wire cable winch that had been on the trailer for 35 years. I finally got tired of metal splinters launching and loading, so this was a welcome change. The strap is awesome, and the winch works well. I recommend this for anyone needing a "change o winch". Rated 2 out of 5 by GREAT QUALITY - POOR FIT I FOUND THE QUALITY ,BOTH CONSTRUCTION AND GALVINATION ,TO BE QUITE GOOD . UNFORTUNATELY . THE BOLT PATERN DID NOT FIT MY WINCHPOST AND WORSE YET , THE STAINLEES STEEL HOOK ON THE STRAP WOULD NOT FIT THE BOW EYE OF MY STARCRAFT ALUMINUM BOAT . I RETURNED THE ITEM TO THE STORE AND WAS DISAPPOINTED TO FIND THAT I WAS OUT THE $17.OO I HAD PAID FOR THE SHIPPING . August 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by more than i expected When I received the winch it was better than I expected. it was heavy duty. alot better than the one that came with the boat.!!! thank you bass pro!! August 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by very good winch Very well made. My boat is pretty heavy. The old winch was only a single drive. In low water situations it had a tendency to twist somewhat as I would winch the boat on the trailer. The new dual drive is smooth as silk. Love it. April 12, 2013

I am rigging up a pulley system in my garage for the hard top to my Jeep Wrangler. I need something to crank it up and also crank down. I can't use a free release winch when lowering it back down. If this winch IS free release, would you have anything that I could use for this application?? Thanks in advance!

i have a 17.5' starcraft fishmaster with a 75 horse and my trailer came with an 1800 lb winch so i would expect the 1600 to be ok for your boat.

I have an 18' tracker with a 115 hp 4-stroke mercury. the trailer that came with the boat had a 1400# winch with a 16' strap. It would load the boat, barely. should have been next size up. the 1600# dual action works great.

How wide is the spool?

Details:
I am looking at buying this wench, but I have to make sure it is narrow enough from side to side (gear to gear) on the spool itself. It can only be 2 1/2 inches wide at the spool. Can one of you guys help me out with this question? Is it inside 2.5?
