Never kayaked before so I thought I would start off on a lower priced model. This is one of the best investments I have ever made. I have had it for about a month now, and I have enjoyed numerous hours out on the water. So far I have only been on calm and flat lake conditions and have never flipped over. Remember, this is the first time I have ever even been in a kayak.

The problem with long sea kayaks is that they are difficult to turn. The problem with short sea kayaks is that they are difficult to keep going straight. This one falls into the latter category. If you are careful to keep upright, it will go straight. If you roll a little to the left, it will turn to the right, and vice versa. When upright, this kayak seems rather tippy, but it becomes much stiffer with a small amount of roll. I think it would take some effort to make it capsize, but other reviewers have stated that they have had it happen. Complaints about the drain plug location are valid, but the small amount of water that remains trapped in the hull is not enough to fill the centerline keel groove.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Goose7020 Great product, almost perfect
This is a great product and a super value for the $300 it costs, but to get five stars you have to be perfect and one detail keeps it from being so. The drain plug, the positioning of the drain plug is obsurd and is almost impossible to help get water out. Other than that I wouldn't want any more or any less from a kayak.

Just bought this kayak and its amazing. Im using it for fishing and I outfitted it with 2 flush mount rod holders, scotty power-lock rod holder, fish finder, and an anchor trolley for all under $50. I was going to buy the fishing model, but I figured I could do it myself for a lot cheaper and I did. This is a very stable kayak and very comfortable especially with the removable seat. The kayak has plenty of room to store a cooler behind the seat or in my case a tackle box. If you are someone looking for a cheap everday kayak or want to create a fishing kayak this is the one to get. The only thing that I wish it came with would be different colors.
