American Hunter® Feeder Accessories - Solar Charger with Mount
great solar panel
I installed the solar panel on a trail camera with a 12 volt battery. So far so good. I have not had to recharge my battery. I have the camera set up 24 hours a day, and change the SD card everyday. I should have bought this a long time ago. Really works!!!

Good and Bad
I have purchased three of these units, and with mixed results. The panel itself is good and is able to maintain the batteries in both feeders and cameras. The only drawback is the mounts have not endured the squirrels sitting on them, the plastic has broken on two of the three and had to be modified to hold the panel in place. Zip ties to the rescue! This is the replacement for a cheaper and better panel offered a couple of years ago.

I use 4 of these, on two moultrie feeders, and two moultrie cameras and they work well! the feeders have the same batteries they had over a year ago! However, I suggest making custom mounts so they can be turned and angled to catch the best sun light, and on your feeders mount it so you have less wire exposed, and try to cover the wire with PVC pipe, or some kind of conduit to protect it from those pesky squirrels!

I have the 6 volt charger installed on a Kenco Life Timer feeder. I can run the feeder for three months on a rechargeable battery with the solar charger attached. It definitely extends the battery life.
I liked the stand attached to the charger and it has been out in the woods for two years now without any problems.

I attached one to my electric creek boat. I havent been able to tell a longer run time. In fact if you leave it on your battery and it does not get sun light it will kill your battery. This is all based on my experience
It should work with any feeder, as long as you have the one with the correct voltage, ex. 6 or 12 volt. You may just have to come up with a way to run the wires to your battery or if the feeder comes with a jack to plug in a solar charger, you may want to visit you local electronics store an purchase a jack to match the feeder, and replace the alligator clips with the jack !
